I started hating United in 68 when half of my school suddenly started to support them. They have spent over the years but they have over twice the ground capacity of Chelsea or Man City so their money hasn't been gifted by a sugar daddy. I would like to see one for the other clubs win it, ie Spurs, Newcastle or even dare I mention Arsenal but as that can't happen United for me.

I am 100% anti Man Utd but why would I be jealous when I support the best team to ever kick a ball? :)

Man Utd broke the transfer record for 3 seasons running.

There's no need to spend massive amounts when you are already the best side in the league. If Man City become a mainstay at the top, then they won't be spending as much in 10 years either.

I dont get this whole, I hate "X,Y and Z" because I see everyone wearing there shirts.
Who Cares? It was the same when I was at school, with everyone following the "top team" and bragging about how good they are. They were easily silence once you asked how many times they'd been to see them. Glory supporter was the easiest put down ever.

I simply prefer United to win cause I prefer how they manage there youth system, even if a quarter of a team is youth its still better than blowing £500m+ on a full new squad of mercenaries. Even the first set of mercenaries were replaced (Ireland etc etc) and some of them were playing quite well.

If it had been a more gradual building up of a squad I reckon they wouldnt be as hated.

but hey, give them a couple years of winning everything and the kids of Hull will be walking round in Light blue shirts and you'll all hate city instead.

But the point is that is exactly what Utd did 20 years ago! And didnt Ireland come through City's youth ranks? (I might be wrong)

There's tonnes of part time Man City shirts everywhere now and all though. And they'll grow in popularity once they start dominating (if they do).

You're not, Ireland joined the Man City academy when he was 14.

What's with all the talk about 'City' on this thread? City's season finished on Saturday as far as I'm aware? It ****s me off when the media imply that Man City are the team that are universally known as 'City' but I never thought I'd see Hull fans doing so...

Agreed on Man City winning. But think it could be a goal fest tonight. Maybe 3-2 City.!!!

I know a few Man Utd 'supporters' - I don't think they have ever been to a match though. It's like they got interested in football and decided to support the best team. They don't suffer like most of us do. I would like Man City to win tonight and win the league. And I don't even like Man City.

I am interested in the game from an academic perspective. If forced to get off the fence and chose it would be Man United because of some family connections.

LOL! Ireland might have been a bad example, but they definitely went out and bought big only to replace them the next season.

It doesn't matter if Man United did it 20 years ago, if that was the case I'd be saying the same about them. I aint having a united love in, I'm going on there current squad over last couple of years, where they've brought through youngsters and mixed them with the odd signing here there.

I guess I just prefer the idea that football is whos built and nutured the best team rather than just whos got the wealthest owners and just buy the best in every position at ridiculous prices.

Man Utd will not lose tonight and that just about makes the title theirs.

Think of them what you will but Ferguson has been down this road many times before and IMO that experience will be crucial.

Like I have said previously I'm no lover of Man Utd but the fact is they rarely bottle it(domestically) come the crunch and I can't see tonight being any different.

Score draw with Man City scoring first.

I fancy the draw too. I can't stand Tevez so don't want to see his ugly face cracking a grin at the end of the match, disgusting he can just **** off and come back when he feels like it, if we all did that in our jobs then the country would go bankrupt.
