Lampard is covering way, way less ground than he was 4 years ago. In fact, he's a good example of the point I was making - we're having to make do because there's no one of his quality who can cover the ground he used to.
Are you saying all the other top countries have midfielders covering more ground than, Lampard? Sorry but I don't see it. He's still one of the busiest players around at any level and on top of that, he's got bags of quality too.
FA go for the cheap option as Roys contract ends this summer. Harry would cost the FA alot of money. Millions Hardly a surprise is it despite the masses wanting Harry as boss.!!!
Agreed. Hence why we should send all the best U21 players to the GB olympic football squad. A much better chance of winning something. Many will only get one crack at this anyway. Olympic Gold or a group exit ? If i was Oxlade-Chamberlain for example i know what choice i would make.!!
Kevin Davies - Crouch - Carroll - Defoe - Welbeck - Campbell - A.Young - Sturridge - Agbonlahor(Bent maybe fit in time) - FFS, we have no chance.
Lampard was hardly shabby last tuesday(Barca game) was he against a team that is better than anything we will see at the euros. Lampard can still offer you that killer pass. IMO, Lamps and Parker are certs for the midfield slots as there form is so good at the moment.
Lampard is a great player Premier no doubt at all but his time has passed, how is he going to play all the games at the Euros at the level we would like. What I would do is get Scholesy back and alternate him with Lampard as much as possible, that way you might get the most out of two great players, that's if Scholes would come back of course, he is still the best English midfielder even after retiring and at the age of 38 which is staggering really
Agreed. But then Barry has had a good season too (even though most England fans myself included find him a bit boring to watch), Gerrard has quality that would get him in most national teams, etc. Who says we don't have strength in depth? Inernational football is way, way slower than the PL so it'd probably suit them both, but both are perfect examples that if you look after yourself age can be just a number that doesn't affect your performance.
Woy has just arrived at Wembley for talks with the FA. I don't know why they're doing the meeting at Wembley, they should do it at their offices, Wembley's a ****-hole.
Aside from Messi there's still Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol, Fabregas etc that we'll see at the Euros, so the Barca team won't be far off seeing what we'll be up against from the very best this summer.
Been scanning through the media today a lot regarding Hodgsons appointment, seems like the media in general support Redknapp, just hope they don't get on Hodgsons back at the first opportunity. Comments from fans are mixed but Harry isn't well liked by a large number. Looking at Hodgsons resume it is is far more impressive than Redknapps, going on that it is hard to argue that he isn't the better man for the job.
Just said on BBC they expect an announcement in the next 48 hours. Worst appointment since Graham Taylor - completely underwhelmed - Expect further England decline.
