deservedly champions and thoroughly enjoyed both games against your lot this season and last week was my favourite away day despite the result.the whole day was a great crack and plenty of good banter with your fans in the pub before and after the game.for once an away day where the stewards didnt ruin the day by asking us to sit down during the game ,i am old school brought up standing on the terrace i hate seats in football grounds ,i suppose thats the only consolation of getting relegated at least some grounds still have a terrace.good luck for next season and if beavon our top scorer leaves us i hope its for a club like yours.all the best from all at wwfc
Thanks, and sorry to see you guys go down. Looked like the great escape for a while. Best of luck next season.
It was gutting to see Wycombe go down- you have to think if we didn't recall Hayes then it might be different. I saw last week how beavon and Hayes might have linked up and made a deadly partnership. And have you collect your winnings yet?
Good luck for next season Rocky - Maybe there will be a link between the two clubs in the summer.. Beavon for Hayes plus Doherty?
Hmm ... Beavon £1.200.000 (if Tubbs was worth £800,000) Hayes £250,000 Docherty minus £50,000 So it would need to be: Beavon for Hayes plus Doherty plus million quid.
I doubt Beavon will be £1.2 mil. Tubbs was £800k due to Crawley being in a strong financial position, and B'mouth then coming in to money themselves because of the Russian's backing. Caused the fee to be inflated. As good as he looked, Beavon will probably cost around £500k.
If even that - Beavon is 27 years old and started in Non-League so isnt a young hot-shot, I just hope we dont miss out on another Holt or Lambert type striker (someone who regulary knows where the goal is)
My bad (as my American neighbours say). I usually check my sources before posting my drivel, but I just assumed he was 23 at most. At 27 and with no consistent history of goalscoring he certainly wouldn't be worth more than £350,000. Not a good investment for Charlton though not as bad as Tubbs for Bournemouth. The £50,000 for Docherty was compensation for taking him. Purely ex-gratia out of the goodness of our hearts. But someone suggested he may take up a player/managerial position in non-league. I wish him luck. Incidentally, in checking on Beavon, I realise I saw his grandfather play. He was a longtime regular in the team that won Oxford Utd League status. I need to sit down. Suddenly I feel very old.
Rocky, sorry to see you go. Do me a favour though on your last away day get a draw or win at the Wendies and stop them getting automatic promotion. Their fans are so deluded.
cheers lads, beever is one you should def look at,his workrate is second to none ,his touch sublime and to score the ammount of goals for us this season the way we have played is unbelievable
Glad you think we'd give him a good home, Rocky. Kermit, BWP, Beavons and Haynes- that would do me for next season, with Sho-Silva & Azeez to come, sounds good.
Sho Silva will still be an U18 next season but I'd loan out Azeez for six months.... perhaps to Wycombe he could do very well indeed given a run of first team football
I expect you to be challenging to bounce back again, though am a bit concerned with events behind the scenes with your owner and the financial problems at Wasps, so i hope they are resolved soon.
