Its rarely been boring under Waddock that's for sure. I do like the guy and we have been a joy to watch at times with plenty of goals to be seen. But the defending has constantly been the problem and any decent manager would have resolved that. It's clearly a weak area of his. I don't want another defensive Taylor type manager, but there must be someone out there who can get a better balance between the defence and attack.
I couldn't agree more wander. For a bit i was thinking that i could tolerate poor defending as the forwards in this division are far far more clinical than in League 2. However what disappoints me more and this is where my dissatisfaction for waddock grew from was the complete lack of fight and organisation that was through the team up until doherty came into the side. Poor players can be helped by working in a unit and this was never worked on, couple this with the poor signings and the lack of being proactive during games and it all constitutes in only one possible outcome and that is that waddock has to go. But he won't. He won't resign and who would blame him for not doing that. He now has a point to prove to a lot of people and he will see this as a challenge not one where he was ultimately responsible for. And who would come in? We've had some good debates on here with this most notably with js but who is out there? And who would want to come now we are a club with a transfer embargo and without a positive influence coming from the boardroom? Any incoming manager would be on a hiding to nothing particularly when you take into account that beever is likely to leave and regardless of how useless they may be players are going to be needed to be lifted and how can you do that with your hands tied? No next season as much as i hate to say this could well be a period of stabilisation, with hayes likely to be rendered even more useless than he already is and no possible players possibly coming in. I hope i am wrong i really do but this sad situation the club is in will not be resolved over the summer.
Poor tactics lack of substitutions substitutions far too late these are all waddocks fault and he hasnt learnt any lessons this season.he is responsible for our relegation and must go if we are to progress.who would we get i dont really know
