as a younger qpr fan, only 18.. im looking forward to the possability of playin in the premier league next season!! last time we where in the PL i was only a couple of years old and dont remember but now we are destined for the promised land but im just wonderin how do you think we will fare if we do get promoted? soooo excited lol
We'll aim for 17th and probably just about scrape it if we spend some serious money. I was only 5 when we were last in the top division so it's exciting times indeed.
yeah well i wouldnt complain with that.. like it would be nice to maybe get mid-table finish but il not care as long as we stay up! but i do agree we would need to spend a good amount of money.
good point northolt.. he really has worked wonders with the club! ...and isnt the qpr v sheff utd on sky?
I think we'll aim for mid-table, first season! Fortunately, I AM old enought to remember the last time we went up.... And was at Loftus Road for the Fulham game....Pitch invasion, Wolves lost that day, and the Trophy was ours! Happy days are here again, the skies above are clear again!!!
The first game I ever saw was our last home game in the Premier League, when we beat West Ham 3-0... I was 5 years old at the time and barely remember it, but at least I can say I've only ever seen us win in the Premier League! Keeping everything crossed that the run-in this season continues to go well! U rrr's!
I too was at LR last time we were promoted to the top flight, but unfortunately wont be this time, due to Monday football. Due to work commitments I can't get to weekday evening matches, and will be away over Easter. I had a nostalgic look at some of my old programmes over the weekend - great fun. Mid table would be superb net season - if mid table still exists. Everyone is either after a European spot, or trying to avoid relegation.
good point there rollercoaster.. its more like your fighting for europe or to avoid relegation these days. but i cant see us bein in the fighin for europe bit.. well not for a season or 2 anyways
Mid table would be a great first season. Hopefully make Loftus road a place to fear and maybe beat one of the big 4....or 5 aswell. I'm sure our form in the FA cup won't improve though.
If it happens, this will be the fourth time I (and it seems a few other members on here) will have seen the Rs into the top flight. Don't want to be a killjoy but of course we will be up against it. We're a small club and our constantly limited fan base and small (but atmospheric) ground cannot produce the income needed to make the club (as opposed to its owners) rich enough. Like all prem clubs there is a substantial financial incentive for membership based of your end of year position... but - all the clubs you're competing with are getting similar deals. The Mittals might assist by underwriting the club's debts but are they Abramovich? Come to think of it, Torres fiasco apart, is Abramovich still Abramovich? I can't see the Mittals throwing good money after bad. They're not stupid. The club itself must become richer by improving the value of players purchased, aired and sold on at greatly increased values. For these reasons, we would have to struggle and survive for some years to come before we're in any position to make a bid for the top. As I see it, we're in for a rough ride - but at least we get the pleasure of seeing the real hoops up there against some of the best players and teams in the world!
when we go up,which we will, i think we might be surprized.I remember reading on some site the long term plan for rangers, prem in 4yrs and europe in 5 and at the time thinking what a dream that would be, and then we started hireing and fireing or some of them just leaveing yes managers, untill enter mister NW and now just over a year later that dream or the first part of it is with in our reach, what a great season and well done to all at the club.I for one cannot see NW standing in front of the board saying ok we in the prem now, what do we do ? the mittals and the other board members know we need to stay up and that money and a good manager, who knows what players he needs in the team to reach the goals of the club. This season we have seen how quickly NW can work to bring players in.what happens next season we will have to wait and see ,just dont forget to enjoy things at the moment its great looking at the table over 35 years i have surported QPR and this season all i have done is smile
It's official, the FA have just announced the findings of their enquiry and QPR are to have 20 points deducted for financial irregularities. The deduction will take effect from 15th April and comes together with a ã 52,000 fine ! Sorry lanzaroteranger but it does not look like you will be playing at Old Trafford next year !!!!!!
