Harry Redknapp is a crook, anyone who knows anything about football knows that. The FA were probably scared of even more mud coming their way. I love the guy though! Can't lie straight in bed but gets the best out of a squad! He's won **** all though.
Roy is the cheapest option what with being out of contract so a no brainer for the money men at the FA. If he did well with the swiss then he should manage better at England in theory, dont Think the players Will take to him though ,not armani enough !
Agree about the players bit. Internationals want to be associated with top managers. Roy Hodgson isn't even the best English manager in the Premier League. I have no idea why they've done this. It must be to save a few quid by going for the cheaper option.

I think the press are getting ahead of themselves again,Roy is the first (of several i would imagine) to be interviewed for the job first as WBA are safe and Harry still has work to do with Spurs so probably wont talk to him until their season has been sorted out.
I genuinely beleive the job is going to RH , he has international experience, is good at organising a team and most importantly comes cheap with no compensation package. Even more important is the fact that WBA still want him as manager so i can see him taking England for the summer and going back to WBA after the tournament, its the perfect short term solution for the FA and would give them breathing space as they can find out more about harry redknapps other skeletons !! Roy for England !!
