Where to begin? Pretty dreadful performance made worse by the results yesterday, although hopefully Spurs can do us a favour over the next few weeks. 1-0 down inside a minute was really only the beginning of our problems today. Clint Hill had possibly his worst game in defence for us ever and showed how important he is to us. By 3-0 it was obvious that a hammering was in progress. And it got worse. The defenders seemed to never be in position and unsuprisingly, Chelsea ran riot for the remainder of the game. Kenny 7- didnt actually have a bad game depite conceding 6. Could do nothing really about any of them and was really let down by the 4 in front of him. Onuoha 2 - pretty dreadful. Was turned inside out like he has been for the last couple of weeks except this time all the chances went in. For the next game, Young has to start at RB for me Ferdinand 3 - not helped by the classless Chelsea fans, it was pretty poor performance. Never really knew where any of his other defenders were and had no presence in the box. Hill 3 - uncharacterisiticaly bad performance. The less said the better really Taiwo 3 - turned inside out again and whilst he may have won over a lot of QPR fans over the last few weeks, i still think we are better with Traore at LB Derry 4 - when put under pressure crumbled, otherwise misplaced the odd pass but was one of the few that tried all the way to the end Buzsaky 4 - didnt really any effect on the game an found himself at the back defending for most of his time on the pitch Barton 7 MOTM - put in a good performance, definetly our MOTM if you can award one for today Mackie 6 - put players under pressure as usual but had little of the ball and when he did get it was often pushed out far to the right with nobody coming across to help Cisse 3 - would have been lower had it not been for his goal, in the first 10 minutes he kept trying to shoot from long range which was utterly pointless and afterwards he created nothing really going forwards Zamora 2 - the least dominant dislay by a hold up man ever, won nothing in the air and first touch was so poor that he often lost it straight away when played to him on the floor Subs: Traore 6 - actually looked lively when he came on, should start the next game SWP - n/a As far as staying up goes, we still have it in our own control. We just have to look at it one week at a time. Getting 3 points against Stoke has to be the focus and we can onnly hope other results go our way. But even if we do go down, a spine of Kenny, Hill, Faurlin, Diakite, Barton, Taarabt and Mackie can certainly achieve something in the championship.
not sure what they have had put in their contracts(re:relegation),but I cant see TF not investing in some good replacements if they do decide to leave..
But then it's the same old story .... who would want to come? You end up paying over the top for mediocre players or players who were once good and just want a good pay day.
Difficult to say that some players were worse than others. A poor performance alround. No belief, no confidence anywhere. We now have a settled defence but like our midfield and attack they were completely outclassed primarily I thought because they outmuscled us everywhere that mattered. I do think you have been kind to Paddy K however. At fault to an extent for the first two goals and these were critical for us.
How many of our players would really get offered a new Prem side? Some have priced themselves out of the market, some have failed to deliver, some are too old, some are not good enough.
