Would you be sad, happy or indifferent to Cattermole leaving in the summer?

Should he stay and fight with Colback and Vaughan for the defensive midfield role?

Or, are Colback and Meyler sufficient?

To be brutally honest Syd, I'd shed no tears if ANY of them left. Non of them are crucial to our current form and non are crucial for our future.

This is the total fallacy about how Bruce left us in good shape with good signings and a strong squad. We have neither and Martin has his work cut out changing that fact IMO.

That said, there wont be a bottomless pit of money so changes, whatever they are, will be minimal not wholesale.

I for one would not be sorry to see him leave. As he showed yesterday he is still prone to picking up needless bookings. He's a liability in midfield and we need someone who can win the ball fairly. He and Robbie Savage are from the same mould. For a professional footballer he lacks everything that is required, cant trap or pass a ball. Two words spring to mind HEADLESS CHICKEN.

As Cest says "none are crucial"..

But given the choices of the 4 Colback, Meyler, Vaughan and Catts, and if one of two of those were to leave, hoping Catts isn't one of them.

Would rather keep Catts still shows he has something to offer us apart from the cards he collects, there are a few others who will go before he does.

I'm still not sure about Catts-on his day he is a great asset but I feel that these days are few and far between and the old hot head reappears;yes he's a good leader but so is Bardo.
If we could get decent money for him I wouldn't shed any tears if he went provided Meyler is 100% again.

I thought earlier in the MON reign that he'd sorted Catts out and he was one of our most improved players. Unfortunately he seems to have gone backwards again and looks the liability he was earlier. I wouldn't shed too many tears if he went and we played Colback in that role. O'Shea for Captain for me.

Catts isn't fully fit so I think we are being harsh on him. He is inconsistent though. I think we would all pick him to play when he played as he did against city. Nobody would pick him if he played as he did yesterday. Trouble is no one knows how he is going to play.

You need to play a creative player with him.

Now we went on our best run this season with Catts and Vaughan in the middle yet Vaughan hasn't had another chance since injured? These two would be my current first choice that said I hope mon buys a quality CM next year.

When Catts is fit I would have him in my team. The problem is he is not fit very often therefore I would not be sad to see him go.

I think it is fairly obvious that MON dosn't fancy Meyler, so you can take him out of the equation.

Now I know for a fact that you were one of the people who said Bruce would make a good scout as he had assembled a great team, just didn't know how to get them to play together...

    He's signed a quite a few crackers though-but <ok>

Vaughan and Cattermole, when fully fit are very, very good indeed. Keep them both, keep Colback as he is quite versatile and quite an asset, as for Meyler, he's like Cattermole, but much better when he's on his game.

Pack your bags, Gardner and Richardson for me.

The thing I noticed about Catts yesterday, apart from his unnecessary booking, was the number of times he won the ball in midfield and then gave it straight back to the opposition. It's no good having a ball winner in midfield if he can't then distribute the ball correctly.

Colback and Vaughan are the 2 with the most to offer, IMO.

I would like to keep Colback and Gardner, I would not be fussed if Catts, Vaughan & Meyler were sold. To be fair if better replacements were bought in I would be happy for any of them to go. BUT that means buying real quality.

Think Catts has had some tremendous performances this season and when playing to his best is a real force in midfield. If he did leave though I don't think it would be a disaster, defensive midfields are the easiest people to replace, they don't upset the team balance to much as their job is to disrupt the opposition and then give it to the playmaker........who is our midfield playmaker is a more pressing point.

Whilst I don't disagree. Compare his booking to 4 challenges by Davies and it was nowhere near as bad. Yet Davies didn't get booked. (including a 2 footer). Cattermole doesn't ever play on a level playing field. He starts every game with 7 fouls and gets booked for his next one.

Also re giving the ball away.. Sessegnon gave it away more than anyone yesterday so Cattermole wasn't alone.
