    Portsmouth and Southampton were both long hauls but both were worth a visit. Good fans and a good atmosphere in the grounds, a bit like us really.

    I want a local team in the Play offs, or not too far. Blackpool or Brum but West Ham is easy on the train.

    I have family in Pompey so Southampton and Reading will be easy.

    Well done to the top two and especially Southampton having just come up last year. Reading just progressed, quite remarkable performance from them.

    Just watched Julian Dicks on SSN saying he thought West Ham would win the play offs ('I always said we would win the play offs... blah blah blah).
    The arrogance of West Ham people is astounding. Just because they paid way over the odds for a few half decent players they think they have a god given right!
    Come on Chrissy Lad do us proud!

    West Ham may have missed out on an automatic promotion spot but at least Fat Sam had them playing a good brand of football.

    Looking at the teams in the play-offs and I don't mean to sound bitter but really, I'd like any club BUT West Ham to come up.

    Birmingham for Hughton (even better if Aston Villa go down for comic reasons). We know what a gentleman he is and this would be another string to his managerial bow.

    Blackpool because Holloway is an absolute legend, tries to play in a nice style and hates sporting cliches with a passion... at the end of the day. Their fans are a delight and it's a great away game.

    Cardiff, their owners seem to have a clear direction rather than just aiming for the Champions League. Also, a Welsh derby in the top flight, that would be very interesting to see! Having Cardiff and Swansea both in the prem would improve the popularity of football in Wales with disillusioned Liverpool fans possibly turning to their local clubs instead.

    West Ham bouncing back up would mean they've gotten away with overspending on dross without making any real effort to change their ways. Also, Allardyce on MotD? Cringe!



    Congrats to Southampton though, I can see something special happening there now.

    Pleased for Southampton anyway, always liked them as a club. Fat Sham losing out just made it sweeter, even though I have nothing against West Ham. Indeed prior to his arrival they were another club I liked in terms of football philosophy/ethos. Obviously I'd really like Hughton to get the promotion anyway as I hold him in high regard. The less we have to watch of Fat Shams technical master class the better.

    I'm glad Reading and Southampton got the two automatic spots, as they both seem to be decent teams, with decent people playing for and managing them. Would like to see Birmingham win the play offs for Hughton.
