Nigel couldn't do what he does without a lot of support from the likes of Crosby, Wilkins, goalkeeper coach and all the medical & fitness staff and pretty much everyone at St Mary's down to the receptionists etc etc. Les Reed also takes credit as I believe he was the one who recommended Adkins to Cortese. Such a happy day, great 3 seasons and I will always have a debt of gratitude to all of the above for making it happen.
Everyone who has played a part this season, including the likes of Seaborne, Holmes & Reeves, deserve plaudits as well Everyone who has played this season has made this possible
Absolutely. Those and Markus. It was great that again Nigel mentioned the back room staff again. What a fabulous day. I spent the whole day telling my son to remember as much as he could. We came home and watched the game again!
I thank everyone that has helped us get where we are today. Even past players such as Perry etc deserve a mention, they helped stable a rocking ship.
Usually when a new manager comes in it's all change, but obviously Cortese kept faith with people he valued and Nigel learnt to value them as well. Interestingly, SKD in his interview said that Nicola was misunderstood. He said he's not an iron man sacking everyone, he has a plan and carries it out smoothly.
Les Reed is Cortese's football brain and it certainly helps to have a more seamless link between the boardroom and the team management. We certainly have a great setup and everyone who is part of that deserves credit.
EVERYONE involved deserves such huge credit. All the past legends who got us our move to SMS and of course Markus should all be thanked for giving us this incredible day I've never felt anything like this.
With no playoffs to worry about everyone can take some much needed time off. Nice to have no games in May. Time to get away and enjoy before July comes and it all starts again. Have a good summer off players, staff, and management. You deserved the extra time off this year. COYS
Or recording it and burning it to DVD. Yeah, one day we'll be able to buy a DVD of the game, I've no doubt, but it will be a polished affair with none of the mistakes [Deano!] and spontaneous unpredictable things that happen on the day. Enjoy the iPlayer. You have 5 days and counting. Cram as many viewings in as you can.
