This was a good win against a more than competent side pushing for the play-offs. They put us under a lot of pressure first half, but Loach was outstanding and made at least 4 great saves. We also put together some good attacking moves, with Murray excellent in both running at the defense and picking out a forward with a longer ball. If he keeps on improving he will indeed be the next Ashley Young. Doyley was turned inside out for their goal, but to his credit he did not let it happen again. How did Iwelumo miss that chance? he is usually better with his chest than with any other part of his anatomy--this time he chested it wide. Bauben is a bit annoying--he does well, then fails to deliver the killer pass. If we carry on in the same style next season (and why should we not?) we will be OK , but we are still 2-3 players away from being promotion candidates. Though some of these players might already be at the club, but not yet/recently in the first team....
Thought you'd like this from the grauniad website: 90+3 mins: Troy Deeney scores for Watford, now 2-1 up at home to Middlesbrough. This has to go down as an excellent first season for Sean Dyche. Well done sir. Plus, he has a hilarious voice.
And to 2012-2013 where Sean Dyche's Golden Horde sweep majestically through the Championship on their way to the Promised Land. Too much Jane Austen I think. We are PROUD and the BBC PREJUDICED.
Well done lads,a great finish to the season. Scott had an excellent game, don't know how he wasn't MOM. Sean you've had a great first season keep up the good work. Who are we likely to lose in the summer? AM probably but any other candidates?
Excellent ending to a decent season. 2 well worked goals after a good goalkeeping display from Loach.
well that was a fun afternoon! A solid performance against a side who attacked a lot..great goalkeeping (aside from one error), chances at both ends, and thankfully we took more of them, meeting 2RJ before the game, listening to Dan, bellowing in my ear, screaming at the ref..just a normal Saturday afternoon really, loved it! What on earth will we do next week??
Mapps was last round the pitch with the player of the season trophy. Got a feeling that may be the last we'll see of him on the pitch. Hopefully Murray won't go too soon - one sublime crossfield pass today. Dychey to Barcelona?
An enjoyable end to a season which delivered much more than it promised. Murray was outstanding today and we got better as the game went on. Middlesborough's early pressure might have worried us more if they hadn't given the ball away so often. All we need is aconfident keeper, two new full backs, a fast, skilful winger and and a pacy striker who can deliver 20 goals and we'll stroll our way to the title next year. It's rumoured SD will cash in during the off season by doing voice overs for Strepsils...the before rather than the after of course...
On Monday morning, I'm not going to say a word to my AD - him wondering when I will say something will probably be worse than me saying something straight away.
I wish i was!! I was freezing and had soaking feet!! He seemed to take it in the groin lol. I could not help but think how is it not in yet. Then though thats probably what his wife thinks LMAO. A big shame to see him hurt like that. He left the ground on crutches and seemed very upset. He looked like he might burst into tears. The injury is nothing serious, he just needs to rest it and all will be ok. He has done a wonderful job with the resources he had. Its our highest finish in about 5yrs i believe and we ended the season on a run of only 1 defeat in 12 games. I have been very happy with the season and cannot wait till the next one I apologise for bellowing in your ear, i do get very excited sometimes. As for the ref, he deserved it lol. I do not know what i will do with myself for the next couple of months. I got your program signed by most of the 11+ subs yesterday, but Doyley and Iwelumo dashed off to avoid being mobbed.
I would like to add that i was counting and Loach did 10 good/great things during the match, and only one bad thing. Just thought i would say.
I think tackles like that are a disgrace and referees really should do more to prot... oh, sorry, I was trying to recall and recite the script Malky reads out after every match. It wasn't a great tackle, but Hoggy and Dyche both know what the game is like. Occasionally players make honest but bad tackles, occasionally they hurt, and to the club's credit we haven't heard any bleating about it. Now, I know people will say that it's the last game and therefore you wouldn't, but if we were looking to gain an unfair level of protection or advantage from referees, the last game of the season is a perfect time to pipe up. If a certain Welsh team don't go up, you can bet that team's manager will spend the summer bleating about a certain other injury. And if they do go up, you can bet that he won't.
I think the reaction of Hogg at posh and then yesterday says a lot about him. He got up and got on with it after being poleaxed from about 5yrds! Then he gets studded on the knee and he refuses the stretcher. He is a very strong young man and he has been a valuable asset in our midfield and i was happy to vote for him as pots.
He does speak fluent Dalek though. I hope Skaro FC are not looking for a new manager. Despite my initial misgivings, he's done a great job.
no apology necessary, you know i love it! exactly! So proud of Dyche and Hogg Yep, (though Mapps was more deserving of POTS )
