Thanks TC. Was always gonna be a tough game today, as long as we gave a good account of ourselves and didn't dish out a Bristol esque performance like last season's final game!
Post-match analysis on Sky - they didn't talk about our goal or Garcia's disallowed goal, but talked about both of West Ham's and their missed chances. Also spoke to Allardyce and Noble, but nobody from City.
Apart from being offside, yes it definitely should have stood. Fancy giving correct decisions, they are all against us.
[King didn't have much today! Would we want him if he played that sort of match? He was so slow it seemed as though he wasn't interested, nothing to play for?
We surely couldn't turn him down. Made a few mistakes but at least he tried to compensate by trying to win the ball back. If Barmby subbed him because he didn't think he was playing too well then he should make three substitutions at half time every week. He usually puts in one of the best performances but never seems to get consecutive 90 minutes...
Spending a couple of mill is better than scrambling around for a reasonable goalkeeper while we ship goals at the start of next season.
I would be happier keeping King then Stewart. King will get better and I think he is the better prospect. Every time Stewart gets the ball you know the final outcome is that he will lose it.
I bet you he's not there at the start of next season Peter! He doesn't fit in with West Hams footballing philosophies so their fans won't have him if they don't go up, not to say the vast amount of money they will lose.
We need him to start the season, don't want to start the season with another Gulacsi type in goal, those points we dropped v Leeds made a difference also the uncertainty in the defence. Basso is no good with his injuries and his alleged problems with other players or the management. We need Vito!
I don't think the owners give a damn what the fans think. I can't see them getting a better manager than Sam.
Nick says he wants to get his business done early. Signing Vito should be the best example of that if we are willing to pay the fee and his wages. Unfortunately, it looks like we are shopping in the bargain basement for every position.
Basso won't be a consideration, Cracknell is currently the highest ranked keeper on our books for next season as everyone above him is out of contract.
Allardyce on... Hull City Q) Do you think the way this season's been you'd prefer the away leg second? A) Not the way we're playing now because we've just battered [Hull]. We've battered a lot of teams here; Brighton in the first half, let's face it. We did what we had to do in terms of battering Hull City but what was disappointing was our lack of conversation for chances created, because it should have been two or three by half time like Brighton was. ---- I wouldnt say they battered us. they had everything to play for, we had nothing. they are a premier league team, lets face it.. they've kept pretty much the same squad since being relegated and for us to come away with a 2-1 result (should have been 2-2) is hardly being battered. poor form there sam....
A 2-1 win is hardly a battering of the other side, I don't get Sam's comment either. Although they maybe shaded the game overall, it sounds like we held our own and nearly knicked something at the end.
To go up? Tough to call isn't it. Would probably go with Blackpool to go straight back up at 3/1 Paddy Power, but all the teams are close in the betting. I have a gut feeling that West Ham won't go up.
The Sky presentation was so biased it was untrue. West Ham this West Ham that. There where large periods of the match when we played them off the park but the commentary team hardly acknowledged the fact. Looking at the replays I also think the lino got it wrong for Garcia's goal
