Indeed Good Luck to Brighton. But i fear they may be putting the cart before the horse. But hey ho. Lessons need to be learned from the past mistakes of other clubs. Even now say Wolverhampton,, who now have a nice new stand and a greater ground capacity for the Championship. At least the KC can be increased fairly quickly once the need is there for it.
whats the point of increasing the seating capacity at the KC ? whilst we're in the championship we'll always have 3-4 thousand empty seats. if we get promoted, different story.. although look at wolves, they've started to expand their stadium and pinning their hopes of staying in the prem... now they've been relegated they'll see it as a huge waste of time & money.
You echo my point. What erks me so much is the waste of seats that the segregation rules require. The sooner that the away fans can be put into the gods(ie.Newcastle) and the entire pitch ringed by the city faithful the better. That will only happen when we are back in the PL. As for Wolverhampton and there new stand, will they even need to open it for most home games next season ?
I don't think Brighton's ground 'expansion' involves any physical civil engineering just squeezing seats into the corners as I recall bearing in mind howdifficult it was to get planning for the stadium footprint at Falmer in the first place - may be wrong. Comment from someone on Daily Mail site.. Ivanitch - the reason was that they couldn't get permission for the full allocation of seats in the initial build application. Therefore the stadium was constructed to be able to bolt on these additional seats quickly and at low cost. Not an expensive mistake, rather innvoative and prudent planning.
The really annoying thing is that for RL you can pretty much fill the place, but 25,400 football fans would definitely kick off wouldn't they?
