I've understood it all along but it's irrelevant. Regardless of the situation, the fact is he's saying they will definitely beat us, it's just a question of how many. How anyone can say that and not be a **** is beyond me.
"If we take our chances then we should have enough to beat Hull" is what it says he said and is not the same as saying they will definitely beat us.
Like I said in my original post on this thread, it would have been fine without the extra sentence, adding that in any context just says that winning is a foregone conclusion even if he did say sensible things before that.
