I really hope you come 3rd or 5th

Obviously I'm a Chelsea fan so I want the best for my club and that means winning the CL, however unlikely it is. But if we were by some chance to win the CL I would be devastated for you guys to miss out, you've been a breath of fresh air and in truth deserve to be playing in the CL next season.

I either want you to lose all your games or win them all and pip Arsenal to 3rd just in case we win.

I don't feel it's fair that we should get a CL spot at the expense of 4th place and felt the same when Liverpool did it in 2005.

I just hope you don't have to go through the heartbreak of missing out because of this, if it were anyone but my own team I'd be rooting for Bayern in the final

 

To be fair its been such a good season for Newcastle that whatever happens I'm happy with the season. Though obviously I would love us to be 3rd.

 

I think we should be looking at Arsenal, if we finish 4th then CL football is a toss of a coin for us.

 

i dont think we will get 3rd being a newcastle fan i just know the wheels are going to come off at some stage,the F A will find out tiote's papers arn't right or something n dock us a 100 points or put us in the ryman paint stripping waggon drivers league

 

Arsenal could well only pick up 3/4 points from their last 3.

If that happens you'd only need 2 wins and 2 draws or 3 wins and 1 loss to get 3rd

 

I hope we finihs 4th and Bayern win against Chelsea! sorry but it's the only way really.

Agreed Stoke and West Brom away are far from guaranteed, got to say I can see Chelsea winning the last 4 games, meaning we would have to win the other 3 league games and we also have to play Man City at home and go to Everton.

 

Doubt it. They have us on the 2nd, the FA Cup final on the 5th and then their away game against Liverpool on the 8th. That's three very tough fixtures only in the space of 6 days, so there will have to be some heavy rotation and therefore some sacrifice in quality in some of the games.

Luckily, I think they may prioritise the FA Cup final, which would likely mean resting players against our game. If we we're to win it would give us 3 points and take 3 off them, which would be a big boost. With Chelsea's home form though, I'd be happy with a draw.

I'd be quietly confident with 4th mind. I do highly appreciate the kind words about us, but I think Bayern will be too much. They've been superb to knock out Real Madrid, but with no Terry, Meireles or Ramires, and possibly missing Cahill too, AND having to face them in their home stadium (which seems slightly unfair) I just think it will be too much to ask.

 

Chelsea will prioritise the Newcastle game more than the cup final, as Roman prefers Champions League success to FA Cup success, and should they lose to Bayern then they would have to wait another 2 years if they didn't finish in the top 4.

Steady on we've 4 of the toughest games ahead but if that happens I'll end up in a mad house muttering we are in the cl,we are in the cl plus going to Poland for Spanish game and is just me or do them Spanish lads look tired and there for the taking ha ha ha

 

3rd would be fantastic!! But I think Mrtiote is starting to affect my positive thinking - I just need to remind everyone we could still finish 6th and none of this will matter one bit. Sorry.

 

Let's put it this way. Wait for frigging Monday or at least sunday evening already. If we beat Wigan and Chelsea QPR only draw and Spurs draw/lose to Blackburn... then I think we can seriously start talking about 4th place. If it so unravels I'd say it's ours to lose. The title might well be decided by monday evening which would increase our prospect of getting anything from the city game by a large margin.

If we beat Wigan there will be big pressure on Spurs at least to beat Blackburn. QPR derby is a tough fixture atm with Chelsea having celebrated I'm sure. I'm quietly confident we might get fourth. As for CL...no way saying, anything can happen in a CL final. Goalkeepers can get sent off in the 3rd minute, some guy can headbutt an opponent.

That said, we all know we must beat Wigan tomorrow, if we don't, all the recent results don't mean much anymore.

 

I wouldn't lie and say I wouldn't care. It would be normal to think what might have been. But it wouldn't devastate us as we were quite happy to get to mid table in August. We've had a great year regardless and the club has taken massive strides forward. I started the other night selfishly wanting a Barca win. But once their fans got Cech booked and got a bit huffy, I was willing Chelsea to do them. I think you'll have your hands full in the final with them at home to be honest. A one off game though so you never know. We'll just have to finish third. You lads throwing your game against us would be a big help! hint hint.

 

Have to say I don't think it will matter if we don't get third (and manage to get fourth) as I think Bayern will win the CL. Never know though!

 

I just hope none of our players are thinking anything remotely like everyone on the board.

Wigan are playing well and in a scrap for survival. If the lads let one bit of their concentration stray to any other sporting event, we'll just be one more scalp in their belt. Wigan. Saturday. 3:00 pm. There is nothing else

 

Can't see it being an issue to be honest. If ther eis one thing that we've been good at this season, its playing down our chances, remaining humble and looking no further than the next game. As supporters, its our job to look ahead! I think the lads will be seeing nothing but blue and white stripes at present.

Reality: We will probably come 5th or 6th anyway.
