Surely the current suspension system tries to encourage fair play ? If the sending off was the only punishment then it would be a free for all at the end of games. Imagine if a player was thru on goal in the last 5 minutes, the defender could just hack him down. He would get sent off but it wouldn't matter that much. He could play in the next game. Crazy !
Note this bit: "It has emerged that Uefa is considering reviewing the yellow card system that has ruled six first-choice players out of the final."
This game will be won on defences, as to which team has the least crap one, Chelseas non-existent one kept out Barca so they should edge it.I fancy Cole to keep Robben quiet so if they can do the same job on Ribeiry on the other side then it should be enough. Gomez is an Andy Carroll type player who actually does what he is supposed to and scores a shedload of goals, but he is the type that somebody like Cahill can handle. Chelsea can win this game if Bayerns home advantage doesn't prove decisive, again after the Nou Camp miracle you would think they would be ok. I think some of you lads are a bit harsh on Tickler by the way, if nobody posted threads on the board then it would get boring quite soon on here, whether the match is a few weeks away or not.
I agree - and comments from mods about irrelevant threads are a bit irrelevant...... if nobody's interested in it they won't post!
stating the obvious, but the fact its at bayerns home ground gives them a massive advantage, one that unfortunately i think will be too big a hurdle to overcome, especially with a makeshift defence...
Thats what everyone said about Roma vs Liverpool in a game they were hailed as simply being unable to lose. Well they did. Seeing as Im on a hot streak I'll say it now - Chelsea will win.
At least he is contributing, (Tickler) I'm not knocking the lurkers on here that don't post but you look at threads sometimes and all the people viewing them and it seems that there are a lot of people who could make some good points on here and contribute that never bother. As for Chelsea and Bayerns home advantage, I did think that they would be better off against Real in Munich but with Bayerns suspensions and Chelseas amazing away performance the other night it might stop it being too much of a big factor against them. Bayerns defence is quite weak especially without Badstuber and Alaba and it could be the likes of Torres and Drogba will have a field day given the use of a certain tactic. There will be a lot of goals in the game I'm sure anyway!
Well it winds you up. Furthermore there is nothing wrong with my spelling when it has to be correct thanks but i just like to make the spelling police work a little harder.
FIFPro the players union are pressing Uefa to show some commen sense. I wish them luck in that. Ivanovic for one got booked for pointing out that Fabregas dived. Now is that worth a booking ? Alaba for Bayern got booked for next to nothing aswell. Card happy refs or what. ?
I can't see them overturning that rule for the match which is a shame really given the players missing the final.
Yes indeed. Thats the point being made. How many of the 6 were booked by card happy refs ? Uefa are hiding under rules are rules. That 2 yellows rule should not apply to a final. Many of them if not all may never get near a final again.
I don't like Chelsea and despite the fact i predicted Bayern would get to the final on their own patch, i can't for the life of me, support the Germans. Nowt against the Germans themselves, it's just their football teams that do my head in.
