i think he will be a main stay. if you think about it, they will probably be previewing the weekend's 'sport' each friday, of which 95% will be rugby

I don't listen very often but I did tonight, if anything there was more of a football bias tonight because of the lead they'd got on Lee Tomlin being a transfer target. Grimsby and Scunny had some coverage too and I can't remember there being much RL stuff to be honest.

Burnsy really should be Sports Editor though. I don't mind Dean but Burnsy is better and should really be top man. God knows why they needed him to do a bloody daytime show, they've got hundreds of them already haven't they?

The managing editor got back to me, he says the change is mainly due to cut-backs, he didn't really address the listener numbers one way or the other.

With regard to Lloyd, he said 'I won’t be drawn into a discussion about individual staff members with you'.

That's because you can't justify the unjustifiable sunshine...

How is cutting a show that barely lasts an hour each evening going to save that much in the wider scheme of things ? Surely there are other shows that could be binned which are more costly to make ? i wonder what gloryous entity will take its place ?

Unless they're shutting down for an hour each night, is he suggesting that Lloyd was well paid even by BBC presenter standards or are they stretching the slots of the presenters either side for no extra salary?

I'm just struggling to see how it's a saving, unless they get income based on listerner numbers?

As for the individual staff member discussion, he needs to remember whose station it is.

Why not address the listening numbers if not the reason anyhow wont they be available on the web somewhere. olm did he say anything about future live games been in the line of fire of the cut-backs.

I suggest we will have more 'news'. Any of which is hardly 'new' of course. Another hour to repeat TV stuff and current affairs items broadcast ad nausium from 6 am every morning. Apparently thats what the journos with their fingers on the button know we want?
