Munich vs Chelsea final - Best tie we could have hoped for??

Well, I had my heart on Real on the final vs Chelsea. I thought Real would be best to get the job done.

However, thinking about it, is this the best we could have hoped for?

Munich on their own turf? I've not been following Bayern much but I heard they've been awesome at home this season.

What do you reckon?

 

Home advantage will hopefully count - but both teams will be missing players, so will be interesting.

 

Let's face it, everyone's order was Barca, Madrid, Bayern, Chesea...either choice Chelsea are underdogs but have a chance .....as already proven.

 

I honestly cant see Chelsea getting past Bayern with:

Ramires, Terry and Ivanovic suspended.

Luiz definitely injured and Cahill probably injured.

And the fact that Bayern are on home turf and, the small fact that they are a much, much better team. I'm not saying its a forgone conclusion because a lot of people made that mistake last night when Chelsea pulled it out of the hat, but If I was putting money on it, which I probably will, I would go for Bayern.

 

Van Buyten will come in for Badstuber and Van Buyten is a goalscorer from set pieces

 

Fancied Bayern Munich for weeks, mainly because of the final being in Munich so think they will win 2 - 1.

So do I, especially given the fact that if we finish above them, the result will have an effect on us regardless.

 

Yeah Munich will spank Chelsea, im going for 3-1.

 

Bayern will certainly fair well with the home advantage. I expect them to win.

Or we could just kick Chelsea off the pitch in a few weeks and hope they have no fit players for the final....just a thought

 

All we can do is just keep doing what we're doing and go out there and give 100% till the end of the season and hope Bayern do us a favour. It would still be worth finishing 4th anyway even if we can't get champions league football, just for the extra prize money.

Agree with Arsenal. We could finish anywhere between 3rd + 6th. Either way, I'll be a very happy man. Yes CL would be amazing, but I'd have bitten yer hand off for top 6 back in August.

 

Never know, one slip from Arsenal (which they seem prone to these days) and a continued run of form from us is all it would take. Although it would be very unlikely.

Even discussing the prospect of a potential top 3 finish is making me as giddy as a school girl on speed, imagine if we actually achieved it? Don't know what I'd do.

Bayern may have home advantage, but each team has the same number of tickets, and Bayern could even end up in the away dressing room...!

That said, I expect them to win comfortably.
