I think they include STH that don't turn up as some of the games the ground seems emptier than the offical stats. Did anyone notice how empty Middlesborough looked last weekend but they still seem seemed to have just over 19000 there. Was that because the TV cameras were pointing at less than full stand or were they all poorly filled (apart from the away end)?
i'm not sure on this i have to say. But i dont see how an attendence record could be considered accurate unless it were calculated on the day of the match at the turnstile. Season ticket holders dont always go etc.... its minor details i know!
There were an awful lot of empty seats at the Riverside on Sat, on all sides of the ground apart from our end which was also about 1000 less than the amount we were given. However this is a 35,000 seater stadium so with 19,000 in there would still be be a lot of empty seats.
thats a good point. i still dont see how they can accurately give an attendence figure unless its calculated on the day though. someone must know!
As far as I know it's tickets sold. That means taking in all the season tickets and the one offs, and adding them together. I'm pretty sure it doesn't just mean the amount of people who come through the turnstiles. However, there must be a turnstile count on the day, so there also must be an average difference figure for tickets bought and match attendance. I'm sure there will be several season ticket holders who don't turn up for one reason or another, and there will always be the odd person who can't or won't go to the game, having bought a one-off. Would like to know what the difference in match tickets bought and match attendance is though. I presume this doesn't include boxes and corporate because each one is allocated seats.
