Revenge is a dish best served cold???

Is it just me or are others going to join me in thinking how wonderful it would be if Villa were to go down? I remember how they danced on our grave as we got relegated 3 years ago. I remember the sarcastic banners and the way they all laughed as beat ourselves on that fateful day. Well, what goes around comes around, as they say! In the words of KK, "I would love it" if they went down. Shame we are not playing them in the last game as it would be nice to see them all weep!!!

 

I just wish we could send them down. Getting called scum for no reason down there was embarrassing. It would be great to see. Seems they could use a messiah?

I bet Villa to go down back in August, 20-1 I took. Can't wait to cash that one in.

 

Question for you lads/girls...

Villa have a match against Spurs in a week or two, who do you want to win that?

I know most of you are going to say Villa because you're aiming for 3rd/4th and any points Spurs drop is an advantage, but some people are desperate for Villa to be relegated. Bear in mind a point will almost certainly save Villa as well.

For the record, I hope Villa stay up because they hand us 6 points per season most of the time and I think it would be a nice boost for Stilian Petrov in his recovery process.

Not really bitter about Villa.

We were laughable. They laughed at us. It hurt because we were every bit as ****, every bit as farcical, over hyped, inept, pathetic - - and we knew it. But at the end of the day, the source of the pain was us, not them.

A Spurs loss, though, would make us very firm favourites for 4th - - I'll let Real Madrid make sure that's worth a CL place

 

I usually know everything, however I am going to admit I don't understand this revenge is best eaten cold term???????

 

I think the idea is that you don't get as much pleasure from quick and sudden retribution - - it's all over too quickly and without time to appreciate it. There's much more pleasure to be had if there's an element of anticipation, then an opportunty for lesiurely enjoyment of the long awaited process, leading up to the long desired, inevitable climax.

If you're playing MW3 online though, and somebody has just popped you, I don't fancy the long drawn out man-hunt and creep up on the kid to stick a knife in his neck. I'm more of an immediately decapitate from any distance kind of guy.

Also I haven't like this 1-6 scoreline hanging over my head for 6 months either, I'd much rather we beat them the following week instead of having to play a title decider against them!

 

I'm not much of a revenge fan at all, so I can't really comment. I was just giving my understanding of the reasoning.

As far as you and Man City, though, I don't think the revenge/cold thing is the relevant concept - - "you gotts get back on that horse what threw you right away or you'll never be able to" is maybe closer to the mark

 

The best method is to kill them!

Stangulation is the favoured option because it's more up close and intimate.

 

Spurs to lose against Villa for. I'd love Villa to be relegated but we need Spurs to pick up minimum points, Villa doing badly shouldn't matter really compared to our CL hopes.
