i have just spent 20 minutes playing with this site going from the begining electron to the edge of everything. hitchikers guide look out.
Very entertaining Thai, actually happen to be interested in Astronomy myself, and nice occasionally to be reminded about how those ´tiny´ stars out there are absolute monsters, and how incredibly vast that ´out there´ really is.
Brilliant find Thai! Thanks for blowiing my mind! Did anyone else notice that Grant Holt's penis is slightly bigger than La Superba, but smaller than R Doradus (about a terameter)?
Nice one Thai. Here is another one you might want to check out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEheh1BH34Q
Nice Youtube clip and kind of puts our planet size in to some considerable perspective! How can we "Earthlings" possible be alone among all those universes that exist? Does any one believe there are other intelligent life forms out there? For me, I am not sure but certainly would not be surprised if there was but no matter how intelligent they are, it would take far too long to for them to get to Earth to make it worthwhile visiting!
I often consider this possibility, and I have come to the conclusion that it is almost certain! When you consider the absolute vastness of the universes, there MUST be a planet somewhere with the life-giving properties that we enjoy here on our Earth!
When you think of the billions of galaxies out there, it really makes you think. It certainly shows how insignificant our little planet really is. The bit I find intriguing is, when you look at the stars at night, you can be looking thousands of years into the past.
Been there and done that so many times on a clear night, to the extent it made my head hurt The vastness of what is out there is totally mind boggling. It is not a subject I have ever really followed with any enthusiasm as I have had other things to keep most of my time occupied, plus most nights were too cloudy in the UK. Over here, away from the town and city lights I might just get the chance to star gaze some times and perhaps get a real interest in this
i think thats doubtful based on the last comment vectis! apologies to thai for ruining his thread. if we can ignore what i posted before and get back to the thread i'm sure it would be much appreciated
Could you please show me where Superman has taken the juice ILD? I couldn't find it on here, perhaps I missed it. Thanks
talking of astrology, any of you apple users who have an iphone or ipad, get yourselves an app called 'night sky'. it's brilliant! you hold it up against the sky and it maps out all the stars and planets, naming them so you can really get to grips with whats out there and visible to the naked eye! bit geeky but excellent app and well worth checking out
