All joking aside, this is a really positive appointment The commitment that our owners are showing is fantastic and I thank them for it
Exactly. You have to start somewhere. And to mock those positions are just ridicoulus, even if it was tongue in cheek. For City to trust their millions of investment with him should tell us a lot, they got money but they are no mugs.
Excellent news and a marker that we are building for the future. Don't mock the Blackburn connection, they've had some real talent pass through in the last few years and their youth team made the FA Youth Cup final this season, without the stream of talent they've produced they wouldn't have had a prayer this season and would you say no to adding Junior Hoilett to our line-up? This is definitely progress...
Ranger you should know we dont do looking forwards or positivity on here,we just wallow in self pity and injustices.
Need to balance the news of this appointment - and his CV - with our youth development schemes and contractual acumen over the past 15 or 20 years... Ugh! Tumbleweed and under-achievement!! Therefore, any such appointment would be encouraging. Fact is, Citeh were not best pleased to see him go - much less to 'another premier league club'!
City havn't exactly brought the youth through to their first team as they have just bought a team, which could beg the question "What exactly has this guy done with their youth system"? On the flip side there should be a stack of young talent just bursting for a chance of first team football so lets swell our squad with under 21's so we will have real strength and depth for the coming seasons.
Never heard of the guy, but can't see it as being anything but good news. More evidence of the ambition of the owners and of their long-term commitment to the club. Onwards and upwards! U Rs!!!
Youd have to be with the weather up there, my mate in Sweden was telling me it was still snowing as of last week.
Seems to be really positive news - and several press releases by QPR today prove we are moving in the right direction, and have a bright future, whatever this season brings. Foundations are being put in place for the long term development of the club which can only be a good thing. The fact that Hughes has brought all his staff here, including the last two, shows he is here for the long term. From the last few weeks, I can see why Hughes was brought in, and why he will turn out to be a very good manager for us.
Why would citeh want a youth policy when they can buy any player they want, rigg was probably pissed of that he was waisting his time and decided to move on.
You need youth for the euro comps as a certain amount have to come through your own academy. So we should get the rewards our our academy when we get into the CL.
