Just for fun thought we could have a little awards.

    Here are the following categories.

    1.Player of the year -
2.Most Improved Player of the year
    3.Young Player of the year
    4.Goal of the season

Please note this is for Newcastle United only,

    My opinions

1.Player of the year - Colo, but Tim Krul runs a close runner up! (special mention to the unselfish workmanship and goals of Demba Ba!)
2.Most Improved Player of the year - Perchino, but Danny Simpson runners a close runner up!
3.Young Player of the year - Our squad is similar of age, ill go with Krul
4.Goal of the season - Ben Arfa vs blackburn - Ben Arfa vs Bolton, take your pick! (so many greats, Ba vs united, Cisse vs villa, norwich, swansea, Best vs fulham!)

1.Player of the year - Tough one but Colo for me, followed by Krul and Ba
2.Most Improved Player of the year - Has to be Perch but I'd agree that Simpson would be on his coat tails
3.Young Player of the year - Krul is now 24 so although young in keeping terms I'd have to exclude him. Probably Santon. If not I'd go either Sameobi for his early season form, or Fergie for his late season contribution. Talking to mates who watch the reserves and younguns they'd undoubtedly go Remi Streete, but I haven't seen him.
4.Goal of the season - Tough one but Benni is gonna be tough to beat. If I watched both goals I'd go Blackburn as I think its technically better. But I'd have to Bolton. It was a terrific moment and really needed. They were proving resolute and frustration was just creeping in a little. It was very much "cometh the hour, cometh the man" type stuff and could still yet have a massive bearing on our season. It meant we went into the mini break with the run still intact and it just lifted everyone. I think we all knew he had it in him whereas he had plenty of doubters externally.

Very good question - but I really have no idea this year. Not a clue. I just can't call it.

We've had loads of great performers, including young players and quite a few who have stepped up and improved to establish themselves as key members of the squad.

And as for goals, we've been spoilt for choice. A big yes to Ben Arfa, but don't forget over the season we've been treated to some great goals by Ba, Cabaye, Cissea and a couple of corkers each from Raylor & Jonas, to name but a few.

So I am going to unashamedly sit on this fence this time and just recall many fantastic moments. OK, OK, so I'm wimping out. Call me a wimp. A happy one!

    1) Player of the Year Colo leads the team so well and works hard.
    2) Most Improved player of the year James Perch, he has proven doubters like myself wrong.
    3) Krul Goalkeepers get better with age, the lad is going to go from strength to strenth.
    4) Goal of the season. Hard one to call but I'm going for Cisse second goal at Swansea, he seems to be going away from goal but ends up chipping it in the right hand corner. Very well taken goal.

    1. Hard...real hard, maybe Cabaye, I'd give it to Ba though.
    2. Ryan Taylor and Perch, they both have done great and deserve some kind of mention...and Simmo too.
    3. Krul
    4. So many good ones... I can't remember us scoring so many good goals in one season like this season, I mean Cissé debut goal? Ba's swivel strike was fantastic. Cabaye's free kick vs manU, Raylors goal vs Everton...or in the derby, we score 2 great goals vs stoke this week. And of course Hatem's 2 goals.... impossible to decide. Oh and Jonas' vs who was that? Cissé vs swansea. I really don't remember a lot of goals we scored last year, apart from all the goals in 5-1 ofc and Carroll vs liverpool and that Tiote strike. But this season how many scrappy goals have we scored? We haven't scored many corners either or penalties. Is it possible we only scored one from a corner against blackburn I think it was?

Player of the Year- Jonas he has worked so hard for the team.
Most Improved Player of the Season- James Perch he can play anywhere.
Young Player of the year - HBA, we all know he has incredible ability but I also think over the last few games he is playing more for the team than just himself.
Goal of the Season- Ba in the great 3-0 win against Man U. Yes it looked like route one football, but a great flick on from Shola then lovely skill and shot from Ba.

1.Player of the year - Demba Ba, carried us through quite a lot, scored a lot of goals, and has played in a withdrawn role without complaint and still playing well.
2.Most Improved Player of the year - Perchinio
3.Young Player of the year - Santon for me. Superb.
4.Goal of the season - My favourited individual goal was HBA vs Blackburn, but favourite team goal was the 2nd goal vs WBA with Ben Arfa finishing it off. Devastating counter attack.

Interesting one that, but Jonas isn't a bad shout at all...Who'd have thought this season we'd have seen him play as part of a front 3, a CDM 2, a LM and a LB! All the same...

    1. Colo, what can you say? Top captain, top player and top guy!
    2. Perchinio...Went from being a punch line to one of my favorite players...His performances this season were summed up by that block at Crouch's feet with his first touch on Saturday!
    3. Krul, I know he's 24, but in goalkeeping terms he's still very young and to be a serious international contender and practically every neutral's No.2 for keeper of the season its amazing!
    4. Ben Arfa v Blackburn, if that had been Rooney and it had been in the league, people would be saying it was one of the greatest goals ever, as it was us in the cup it was practically ignored!

    Stunning:

We've been royally treated to some great football and some great goals. I think it might have been better to put the goals into two categories. The most Important goal and the most Spectacular goal.

Raylor's free kick against the Mackem's comes immediately to mind in both cases. HBA's against Blackburn was a stunner as was Cisse's second goal against Swansea when he appeared to be off balance and falling backwards.

I'm just happy to have seen them all and find it very hard to pick just one out of all of them.
