Sky Sports understands highly-rated Feyenoord winger Jerson Cabral is a target for a number of Premier League clubs.

Cabral is regarded as one of the best talents to emerge in Holland in recent years and has represented Holland all the way up from Under 17 level to the Under 21s.

The 21-year-old caught the eye of a number of sides after starring for Holland in the Under 19 European Championship campaign in 2009/10 and he established himself as a key player in the Feyenoord side.

Feyenoord have helped develop the likes of Robin van Persie and Cabral is tipped to be the next big player to emerge from their academy.

Cabral, who has scored six goals and has six assists to his name this season, has been likened to countryman Arjen Robben in his style of play in that he can play on the left and right wing.

The exciting winger has just a year to run on his current contract at De Kuip and Feyenoord have offered him a new deal to secure his long-term future.

However, sources close to the player claim Cabral could be tempted to leave Feyenoord this summer for a switch to England. The news has alerted a host of clubs across Europe with Newcastle and Tottenham both thought to be leading the chase to bring Cabral to the Premier League.

Even though I have absolute trust in carr and in the way we're spending, I hope we're not gonna rely on miracle signings forever. We need to eventually buy someone we know is quality and pay the cash.

He's two footed it seems. Looks a really gem.

 

He's decent on FM, so who knows. Done well for a youngster in Holland this season. Could possibly happen. Although how long will it be until people realise we only sign players we aren't linked with. Cabaye, Tiote etc., even Cisse came out of the blue.

Looks impressive - although in a 2 1/2 minute highlghts vid on YouTube I bet somebody like Jonas would look like the best player in the world.

As with all these rumours (especially the ones starting with 'Sky Sports understands') I will not take too much notice. With the season we've had we'll be in the transfer headlines on a regular basis - both because we'll be targeted by big money clubs looking to poach our 'stars' and because we'll be an attractive proposition to players seeking european football.

I'll wait until I see which deals are completed.

Im sorry ive not been on in a while. I presume the Ben Arfa daily is some kind of transfer rumour thread?

 

If we are targeting him it insinuates we are doing the right thing and taking a permanent 4-3-3 formation seriously.

 

Oh well, we all know that whatever Tiote want's, Tiote gets.

 

The Dutch league as a proving ground is tough to judge due to the general low quality of defending over there. That said, young talent that (hopefully) won't cost much is always welcome. With Marveaux's ability to play regularly in question, having a hungry youngster or two waiting in the wings is a smart idea.

 

We do buy quality...

Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveux, Ba... likewise.

We just don't spend loads of money, our squad is superior to Liverpool's in terms of quality but they have spent ****loads.
