They both play incredibly similarly neither have too much pace but both have very quick feet, I think if I had to liken lallana to a prem player Pienaar would be him. The question is would you be happy if Lallanas ability peaked at the same level as pienaars?
Yes they are similar players. I dont know why we dont play a 4231 formation more... Lallana in the hole with two wide players such as De Ridder/Guly/Puncheon/Chaplow. Lets face it none of our Centre Mids can hit a barn door so they may aswell just sit back and let 4 attackers do the job. When we are attacking there always seems to be a big hole between the strikers and the midfield - a hole that lallana could fill in a 4231. If we go up I would expect us to play this formation like many of the newly promoted premier league sides do.
I think so too, he's had a better season than modric who many consider one of the best in the prem and the answer to uniteds centre mid woes next season.
True but when we're top of the league I think most people expect two strikers as a minimum. If we don't sign a new striker a formation like 4312 would be good? Lallana behind sharp and lambo with spiderman sitting deep and pinging and two hardworking midfielders either side. Although my two favourite formations are 4231 and 4222.
Lallana will bag five goals by the end of his debut season in the prem, with Lambert poaching just over 10. Sharp will chip in with 5 as well. Good Luck next season in the Prem- any ideas as to who you could sign ??
Pienaar's another victim of golden boy Harry's policy of buying players then not knowing what to do with them. Just look at how long it took Bale to break into the team, when we all knew he was the finished article when he left us. He only got a chance in the end because they had nobody else. Gio Dos Santos is another one, quality player, regular international, completely wasted by Harry. Corluka, Bassong, the list goes on and on. It amazes me that nobody asks more questions of what happens to all these players. Truth is if you're not one of his favourites it doesn't matter how good you are.
Good points, Pienaar was always going to be behind bale in the pecking order so its surprising he left everton at all. Dos santos is criminally underrated as well, would be a star in a mid table prem side.
A former owner of us, Sulaiman al-Fahim, once said he would buy us Ronaldo, Messi and Eto'o .. .. whilst getting Diego Maradona as his Chairman Can't find the link that said exactly that- but this one from the mail mentions Maradona and Messi http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lan-sign-Messi-appoint-Maradona-chairman.html
