I know it will be just him trying to keep his team motivated but reading his comments he seems way off the mark:

Stoke manager Tony Pulis: "We had a lot of chances today. Jon Walters, who I think the world of, could have come out of the game scoring a hat-trick.

"But the difference in both boxes was they hit the target and we never. From being very much in the game we were 2-0 behind after two very poor goals.

"At the start of the second half we thought if we could get that goal it would have been game on. But the third goal was very poor again and that gave them the momentum to go on.

"You've got to give our players credit - they kept going and kept going. I don't think it was that bad a performance."

He says all three goals were poor goals (and i realise he means from Stokes point of view) but talk of a hat-trick and how his team deserve alot of credit... we had 11 shots on target, they had 2. We had 59% possession and alongside the goals (there were three of them by the way, it wasn't exactly a nail-biting finish) we had another one ruled out for offside and a handful of great opportunities we didn't convert.

I think he must be putting on a brave face for his team because if our manager came out saying it wasn't a bad performance and all the opposition goals were poor then i'd be worried he couldn't identify the problems in the team!

He is a bit of a knob, you can think the world of Walters all you want and he will still be average.

Poor old Pulis, he must have been at another game and that must have been a clone. Stoke may as well not have turned up, there was only one team in it.

We didn't need a third goal to give us momentum, we were in their faces from the off!

To be fair Walters did have a couple of good chances, however other than that Stoke didn't do anything.

What happened to the lanky one today? He huffed and puffed and couldn't do a damn thing.

Was almost as funny as this.

Stoke were awful to watch today, the sterotype that they continually play hoofball was proven, and I can't remember a single real chance where I thought they'd score. I can't understand how Pulis can ask for credit, many games this season we've won and not deserved it, and I'll admit we didn't deserve it, but today we deserved it and probably should have scored more.

    Stoke fan here..
I was at SJP today and all I can say is this..

ANY honest fan who posts and reads our board will know this too!
For most of the season Tony Pulis will hide behind what we the (Stoke fans) consider to be..

"Simply not good enough" He is a PRATT and although I'm the first to say well done too Pulis for keeping us in this division he's never going to change the way he lacks idea's. His sub's today we're in short a joke. He waits until we are out of the game and then brings Jerome on?

I said on the Stoke board earlier.. in response to the O.P. Haslam? I was obviously watching a different game than Pulis was. YES IMO Walters should have scored, at least hit the target he didn't and once you scored the first goal, it was all over simple as, simple is.

I would rather he said, "That was not acceptable, a disgrace to the Stoke shirt, a poor performance. I've had my head bitten more than once for saying this but....

The sooner he decides enough is enough, Pulis simply can not take us any further. The happier I will be.
I stopped going too away games last season simply becasue, as you all saw today. He's so negative it's not fair on the loyal traveling Stoke fans and it's utterly pointless too set up "not to concede" even more so because today? We had NOTHING to lose and IMO we NEVER looked like scoring. For Pulis to have said that is a JOKE. He is embarassing MY CLUB/OUR CLUB and it sickens me truth be told.

I'm almost certain that ANY other Manager would have ripped into our player's at full time, I know I would have.

I don't think he's a knob, just a Manager who no longer has a clue as to what his/our best 11 is and has the tactical nouse of a five year old.

I'm hoping we can do you a favour and beat Arsenal next week, not sure how given today's performance though we always play well at home against the so called top sides.
    NO OFFENCE meant...

    RANT over.

PS WELL done today, you ripped us too pieces at times and I now HOPE that you secure a UEFA top 4 spot... staying in Cramlington tonight with family and just got back from a FANTASTIC night out with a few Geordie lads and lasse's. YOU are the salt of the earth and all the best for the remaining games.

    <cheers> Pott's

Not keen on him but managers often do this to protect the players. The key is to pick your times. Sometimes you just have to say "Hands up we were outplayed and not good enough. Apologies to our travelling fans." He ran out of ideas very early for me. That said I think we're a handful at the moment.

One thing to protect your players, his attitude in his interview was weird, gave us no credit and made himself look a fool and a bad loser!

Think his bizarre behaviour and bad choice to not hold his hands up is probably down to frustration. He has rarely been tactically outwitted twice in one season, but Stoke were never in either game with us. He's an emotional character and doesn't take defeat well.
