EXCLUSIVE: Pay-rift Simpson in threat to quit Toon with one year left on his contract

Danny Simpson is preparing to quit Newcastle this summer after the right back became dissatisfied with an offer of around £25,000 per week — an increase of £15,000.
Simpson, who has 12 months left on his £10,000 per week contract, is an ever-present for Alan Pardew’s side this season, has played a key role in the push for a Champions League spot.
He will not sign a new contact unless the club significantly improve their offer and his name is being circulated by intermediaries with a view to securing a move.

Newcastle are expected to return with another offer and could look to boost the deal through performance-related bonuses.
Meanwhile, Pardew is ready to put his side’s Champions League dream in the hands of rookie goalkeeper Rob Elliot against Stoke today.
His No 1 keeper Tim Krul has suffered back spasms in the build-up to the Premier League clash at home and although the Dutchman will be given ample time to prove his fitness before kick-off, Pardew is prepared to hand his £1million signing from Charlton his Barclays Premier League debut.
Elliot, 25, made his Newcastle debut in the Carling Cup earlier this season and that is his only appearance for the club to date. Veteran Steve Harper, who has spent a spell on loan at Brighton, is ruled out after knee surgery.

Pardew said: 'Tim had a little spasm in his back and it should go away but if not, Robbie Elliot will play. Robbie’s been absolutely brilliant in the background here and I wouldn’t be against him playing. If I think Tim is in any doubt, he won’t play.'
Victory today for Newcastle, and a defeat for Everton at Old Trafford, would secure a Europa Cup place at least for Pardew’s men this weekend.
And defender Mike Williamson admitted the squad may be pinching themselves that they have Champions League qualification in their sights with five games to go but they are focussed.
He said: 'There’s just an honest mentality of feet on the ground here. No-one's got their head in the clouds.
'It's been a phenomenal season and when it is done and dusted the lads need to look back on it and be proud of what they have achieved.
'The lads set the standards early on in the season and we have been very consistent keeping to them. We’ve been right up there so you can’t just say it’s been a late run or flourish unless you are Mr Tiote from www.not606.com.'*

Twenty five grand a week? I could live on a million quid a year even for three or four years.

Mentioned in the Journal as well, saying we may get Debuchy instead. If this is the case I will drive Simmo wherever he wants to go

I live on working mans wages!!!!! I don't require money to be a man. A real man can live on beans and water.

These greedy ****ers wouldn't last 2 minutes in my world and won't be able to pay of the aliens when they want their eyes. I'll be saving their arses no doubt when the invasion occurs.
