Well it's a fact, like me saying teams have figured McClean out becuase he hasn't scored very many goals
Not quite bonny lad. Only four qualify for the CL, so if it had finished before todays games as I said it would be United City Arse Chelsea, (if they win the CL) Two qualify for Europa so that would be Spuds & Liverpool, (if they win the cup). So although unlikely, still not certain aye?
Unless Everton win every single one of their games including tomorrow's game at Old Trafford and we lose every single one of our remaining games , we'll be in Europe next season. It's not that hard , pretty straightforward.
I doubt any newcastle fans will be "crying into their Cheerios" if we don't get into the CL. Its all about expectations, we were expected to struggle to simply stay in the league, most fans of newcastle would have been happy with anything from 11th-15th and really made up about finishing top half. We've got europe (15 points ahead of everton with 5 games to play i'm going to just assume) so even if we finish 6th its been an amazing season. Summed up by the sentence "even if we finish 6th". We're aiming higher and why not, we aren't expecting to be in the top four come the end of May though.
To be fair, i appreciate it would be funny for you guys if we finish 4th and fate conspires against us so that we become the first team in a decade or so to get 4th and not get into the champions league. Free reign to have a laugh at us for it, but don't actually expect us to be upset - we're delighted to be in with a shout however it ends up. I think Sunderland are just suffering from "endofseasonitis", couple of really flat games for you guys - the types of which you were storming a month ago. Happened to us last season, nothing left to play for i guess, but if only the players understood fully how much the fans do care about the difference between finishing 7th and 12th. There's no reason you guys shouldn't have been finishing above the bulk of midtable, at least relegation has been off the table since O'Neill came in - start afresh next season
No way we're going to finish above Arsenal, just not going to happen in my opinion. Anyhoo, doubt the Sunderland fans are that enamoured with us having this particular debate over here
