According to the sun Tottenham and Schalke want Kasper. I wouldnt sell at all but the price the sun quotes is a pile of crap. They reckon he is avalible for 2M. Times that by 3 and we might start to listen to offers http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...el-is-a-target-for-Tottenham-and-Schalke.html
Yeah sorry i had just woken up and didnt see his name mentioned Peter Schmeichel said on Soccer AM Kasper needs to stay at a good club long term and he is at a good club. He also said Kasper said this has been the best year of his career
I can see us having to sell him for £3m+ add-ons, theres no way we should stop him having a go at top flight football.
His agent's certainly got a lively imagination, and a good list of contacts in the media world. Before he came to us, he was allegedly off to Bayern Munich, if you believed what the papers were saying! A fan who truly rated the bloke would never say that. Admit it, he's ****e.
Yeah sorry, I heard Jeff Schlupp's been linked with Barcelona, Man City and AC Milan as well. I believe anything I hear, you see. KASPER FOR SCHALKE!
Spurs have already sent scouts to see Kasper this season. Don't believe it if you want, but don't ridicule those that don't have a personal vendetta for someone who left you for a club with higher ambition.
Liverpool had scouts on Jonny Howson too - it's fairly routine to scout lower league players who've got a good reputation. Some press goon sees them in the hospitality suite, asks them who they're after, and hey presto, "Spurs in Schmeichel pursuit" appears on the Daily Star website. It might not have even taken that much for the Schalke and Bayern rumours - agents will talk some dog **** if it gets their player a better hype and they can take a slice from future transfers when they get the attention. But do me a favour, teams competing in Europe aren't going to be after your special little Kasper. I'm sure he's had a good season with Ambition (Overspending) FC, but he's not the superstar you lot are all making out, and I've seen it with my own two eyes. At a big club like Spurs or Schalke, he'd buckle under the same pressure he did at Leeds.
Schmeichel really is that good. You can't tell me he isnt because you've not seen him this season. He's the best under 25 keeper this league has ever seen and he represents a very good investment for a club with two keepers expiring in the coming seasons. Howson ended up at Norwich who are 3 points behind Liverpool... Also, I'm not sure how you can say a player won't do well for a big club like Spurs after seeing him play for Leeds. Spurs are in a completely different stratosphere compared to you. Stop living in the past.
I had doubts about Lonergan when he came, and they've been proven correct over the course of the season. My point is based on the expectations of the fans, which filters through to chairmen, managers, directors and training staff. At Leeds and Spurs, we demand and expect our teams to be in Europe and contending for major honours most seasons. At Leicester and Norwich, that would just be a bonus. The weight of expectation is minimal. Schmeichel bottled it at Leeds, and he'll bottle it at any other similar-sized club. Howson was signed by a team that had just been promoted They've done well because they've not had that chain gang attached to them. But the point I was making about him was not that he's a particularly bad player, it's that big teams who will have those high expectancy levels will routinely look at lower league players they think might be an easy steal. I estimate there are Premiership scouts every week watching players in every division down to Conference North/South level. Kasper's a good Championship keeper who might work his way into the Premiership, but he's **** all special. Football isn't just a game of technique - mentality is equally important. Same goes for all sports, really. People overlook that fact way too much when discussing the game.
But he's moved to a big club and seems to be handling the pressure well. He obviously just wasn't suited to a small insignificant team like Leeds.
You can't seriously be suggesting the pressures of wearing the Leicester shirt are the same as Leeds.
Joker. The slightest slip-up at Leeds and you get shouted at by the Kop and there have been boos and discontent after the majority of home games this season. We're protesting even though, on the face of it, we've done better than you in terms of money spent relative to achievement. We still sing about being 'the greatest in the land' and 'champions of Europe' and that attitude is drilled into the players. We get huge and expectant numbers away from home, too. Leicester City is a place where Schmeichel can do OK, because he doesn't have people on his back. You'll always get that at Leeds, and that's why he failed. We've seen it happen to so many dozens of players that we're pretty adept at diagnosing it now. And he's infected. For the record, I don't hate him because he left Leeds, played below-par for us or went to you. I hate him because he's scum.
You really have no idea Paul Gallagher ( our 3rd top scorer) gets booed with every touch. That sums it up nicely.
