This makes no sense. Either she was too drunk to consent or she wasn't. Therefore, either both are guilty or neither are. She accompanied someone back to the hotel room, sounds consentual. If she then, when upstairs, said Evans could "get involved", it's still consentual imo. Very strange one.

This maybe controversial but I don't agree with him being sentanced. Now the point I want to make is he said he had sex with her - far enough he could of lied. However being drunk is not rape. You cannot blame alcohol on anything - me and my friend made the point that alcohol does not make you do things, it just losens you up. It is wrong that he had sex with her if she was in a state, but I think it is obvious that he didn't force it on her, and she probably did agree to it. I don't see it as rape, I see it as a drunken mistake by the girl and now she is covering up. Rape is literally forcing it upon someone. I'm going to be honest a few months back I had sex with a girl, she remembered it...I could not remember a bloody thing. Is that rape? No because I probably said 'yes'. I think the guy has been hard done by. (He is still a sick guy for taking advantage of a drunken lass though)

I don't think Maddison deserves all this abuse for expressing an opinion...I have a daughter, but I can still understand why some would have reservations regarding this case...I still can't understand how one player gets off with it whilst the other gets a five year sentence... If I'm being honest, I don't know enough of the details regarding this case to express an informed opinion, so there may well be a valid reason for the above, but it just seems strange to me.

In my younger days I could probably have been done for rape because I have enjoyed more than on drunken frolic in my time but my case would be.. 1. Both drunk but never comatose. 2. Young with lust taking over from sense. 3. Never actually asked by a mate to come over and take advantage. Forget rape and sex and think that ever weekend in every city there are girls who drink a few to many, not the slags and sluts talked about by some but girls having a good night out. If they get that drunk does that give us men the right to take advantage of them or should we respect them and look after them?
Truth is none of us were in that hotel room or the court room. Its always going to be a contentious issue. Im sure guilty men have walked free and innocent men have done time for this type of incident. I dare bet people consider Mike Tyson a horrid rapist. I bet not everyone knows that vital information and key witness testimony was withheld that may have completely changed the verdict. Many key witnesses that discredited Desiree Washingtons account weren't allowed to testify but no good reason was given for this. Most shockingly of all it didnt emerge till after the trial that Miss Washington years earlier had admitted to falsifying an accusation of rape against a man after he rebuffed her advances. They were allowed to paint Tyson as a beast with a clear tendency for violence but the jury werent allowed to know about her previous fake rape claim.
