Ched Evens jailed for 5 years

Agreed. With this method, a criminal will get to suffer for the rest of his life, and also... if by somehow a prisoner has been found innocent by new evidence, he/she can be set free and compensation payed for the years he has lost.

If an innocent man/woman is killed and later found innocent, there is no bringing them back.

 

In england there are crimes as well that pretty much get you life in prison.

 

I'm pretty sure in UK there is always a chance of Parole if a committee decides, after a certain amount of time in jail, that you've been properly rehabilitated.

 

Pretty sure Ian Huntley will die a prisoner no matter how much he says he is sorry and reformed

A couple of year ago, one my mates spent a couple of days in court because his friend was up for rape...Basically it was a post-night-out house party, he went upstairs, 10 minutes later a girl came up, climbed into the bed with him...

He claimed she moved herself towards him suggestively, then there was foreplay and sex (even anal).

The girl claimed she woke up halfway through and was too scared to act so simply laid there and took it. Sounds horrific for her and I'm sure we could all sympathize with her and her situation. It could've been a simple open and shut case, the lad labelled a rapist and sent to prison with that tag hanging over him for the rest of his life...IF...it wasn't for one very bizarre testimony given by a man you're all aware of...One, Obafemi Martins!?!?

In a statement read out in court by Martins' lawyer, he said that the girl rang him (not her mother, not her friends, not the police) crying down the phone saying she'd been raped! He of course told her first to contact a friend or family member, then the police...The lawyer stated that Martins was very surprised that she chose to ring him, given that they had only met once, when she had gone back to a party at a friend's house together (...No need to describe further...) and had not spoken since then...That was 2 weeks before this incident.

When the girl was asked why she rang Martins she said it was the first number that she came to in her phone...Hmmmm...

If it wasn't for that girl's stupidity, this lad would have had his life torn apart! I'm not saying that this is the case in the Ched Evans trial, nor that all girls act like this, but it is frightening to think how easily it could happen to you (that and the fact Oba was involved just made it worth telling!)

I personally think its pretty obvious what she's playing at. She would have enjoyed it, she'll enjoy her big pay out. Ridiculous in my opinion.
