They do it every game just about - there are a few other hate realtionships in the PL, no doubt! You can shake someone's hand like you want to sh*g em, you can shake someone's hand like you want to cut it off, or you can shake someone's hand like it never happened! I'd recommend the last one, but the point is that we need to be focused on 3 points, nothing else. Full Stop.

Agree largely Os, but this is a side issue of a racial abuse charge. Where else in life would you come up against the person you will shortly be in court against? There is time to have the conversation - shall we shake hands or not? It won't detract from the on field business and as long as all R's are of the same opinion, it will strengthen our team spirit. Added to which it could stir up some extra feeling and passion, which they might not be up for. Having said all that, terry probably won't play.

I cannot believe some on here are saying Ferdinand should put this on the back burner.

Jonh Terry is a racist scumbag, and I wouldnt want to come within 5 feet of the man. I sincerley hope all of the players refuse his hand.

This isnt about QPR v Chelsea, its about a racist. Ok, he may not have officially been found guilty, but we all know what happened. He may not even be found guilty, as I am sure he will find a way of getting off the charge.

    This!

I can't believe any of the players would even consider shaking his hand. Would you shake the hand of someone who racially abused your friend and colleague?

Everyone above suggesting that Ferdinand has taken it too seriously and move on or that his ego is to blame for the ongoing dispute should be ashamed of yourselves.

I think that making the Chelsea game more 'personal' for the players by not shaking hands surely helps motivate - assuming all do not really want to - the more personal, the more motivated, more attitude - tougher attitude etc

Absolutely ridiculous statement....Maybe after the "fixed" court case but not now

Nothing has changed......i hope the whole team ignore him.

What would you say had it been a your dad, mum or gandma......?

Queens are you a schizophrenic? On the previous page you agreed with a post saying Ferdinand's ego was getting in the way!!

I wish our players would have a team meeting instead about how to ******g win a match. I would love a couple of minutes in the dressing room with some of these nancy boys. The simplest way is to all shake hands wity terry and as doing so look the other way. This will show that our team is united and spook that trollox Terry. Just hope our players do not get involved in the whole emotion of the thing. Diakite, barton and Cisse come to mind. We need 11 on the pitch. Anyway, if we don't beat Spuds tomorrow it will not matter as much.

Shaking hands is a friendly gesture - an offering - I'm not armed. I wouldn't shake the hand of someone who abused me or a friend/loved one, unless there had been an apology. Terry brought this upon us, it's a seperate issue, not part of the game. There is enough time to have a conversation, decide what to do and move on. It won't detract from match prep and focus any more than deciding to shake hands.

Terry wont play in the game against us.
He will play against Barcelona then be rested for the Newcastle game.
given their injuries and a hard runaround in the 2nd leg i reckon events could work in our favour at the Bridge.
they will be drained so we should use any extra motivation we can
    Ruiz and Ivanovich also out
imagine if we did the double there and stayed up on the day (yeh i know i am in la la land!)

3 points up for grabs at the Bridge - well, maybe we can get some "help" from Barca ahead of that match

Hate to say it, but he played really well on Wednesday. You'd never have guessed he's got broken ribs - perhaps he hasn't.
