14:20 Ayr- Dildar A small but tough field for the paul nicholls raider, especially coming up against c&d winner Lexis Boy. Dildar has yet to convince over the jumps, making hard work of winning an ordinary race at Taunton before unseating Ruby Walsh when well beaten at Kempton last time, Im sure Nicholls would have done some serious schoolling with him also he is wearing a tongue-tie for the 1st time which should bring some improvement, not only that the stable is bang in form at the mo and is looking for him to finish the season off in style before he is put away for the summer.
I'll be interested to know if Stick knows what they expect out of Florafern tomorrow. It's a long way to go for it not to be primed. However, the one I'm interested in is Nanna Maura at 6/1. James Lambe comes over from Ireland and has Barry booked. Off 106 I think 6/1 represents excellent each way value for a horse with definite ability who may well be under rated right now. 5.05 Ayr Nanna Maura 6/1 each way
Sorry to put up another favourite but.. 16:25 Newbury- Popular The full sister to the magnificent Midday, she was outpaced over 1m at Kempton on debut in October but the step up in trip shoud suit and she have the race her own way and should be able to show her class against the field.
Thanks to the Bet 365 4/1 Offer I have a free bet in the 2.40 Newbury having looked at the field and assuming the going will be at best Good to Soft I have plumped for the Charlie Hills trained SELF CENTERED 16/1 who has decent form on going with a bit of juice in it. Her past form was franked today when the Richard Hannon trained CRIUS finished second in the Group 3, Craven Stakes. Back in August last year my selection got to within 1 3/4l of CRIUS who still has an entry in the 2000G. She also finished a 5l 3rd to the AOB trained MAYBE in the Chesham Stakes at ASCOT on Soft ground last June, a horse that has went through the season unbeaten in 5 races last year and won in Gp 1,2 and 3 races, further down the field that day was the JCH trained TELWAR who won well today in a Class 1, Listed Handicap race. With more rain forecast overnight and tomorrow I can only see the conditions becoming more in her favour and with a draw that favours Soft Ground and back down in Class I dont think the 16/1 will be around too long. Finally on a superstitious note, ive seen two Ferdy Murphy horses boxes today on my way to and from work in North Yorkshire, so here goes: 16:00 Ayr DIVERS 3/1 and DE BOITRON 16/1 EW both have leading claims, however, DIVERS was withdrawn from Cheltenham this week and the booking of AP McCoy again is significant and i can see him going very close.
Spirit of Shankly is due to run on Saturday. So that will be something nice for everyone to look forward to.
It's never really happened for her has it Nass. 2nd in a Group 2 on her second ever run.... the world was her oyster. It would be good to see her pull out the stops tomorrow.
110% primed Quel and they are confident of it running a big race again but dont be fooled into thinking its making the trip on its own as I believe Clerks Choice has travelled up for the Scottish Champion Hurdle. Florafern is a very worthy favourite!
Think it's going to be a Ruby day tomorrow at Ayr. Nicholls stable going great and think all 3 are in with a shout. Doubles and trebles Dildar - 2.20 Likeable Rogue - 3.25 The Knoxs - 4.00
with you on self centred wayward. is a talented animal, and tho she may come on for the run she's surely better than her rating.
Morning lads. Slightly off-topic, but do we have any experts out there is web-site design/set up or web-shop design/set up? Edit: Actually it's fecking miles off topic
Sorry Oddy - can't help you put there mate. This is about the extent of my computer knowledge. As promised another tip - when I get them you'll get them and today's runs in the 8pm at Bath - Saby's Gem. Same source as the last two winners and short head second. 6/1
I got 5's with bet365 about half hour ago, Quel. Can't see any 6's still out there, if previous tips from him are anything to go by, I would take the 5's quickly!!!!!
Seeing as RUN FAT LASS RUN obliged at Ripon yesterday, should we be backing BIG OLD UNIT (33/1) in the 3.15 at Newbury?
E-W Momentary. With it coming up soft there may be a few surprises today. This Nayef filly out of a Danehill daughter of an Oaks 2nd should go on to better things but I'm hoping she'll run into a place.
Good old Jim Bolger - going for a "wind card" Derby entry for Light Heavy by trying to win ther Epsom Derby Trial next week. I've never understood why more trainers don't use this race as a prep for the big one - it is usually very poorly contested. Let's hope Bolger's decision is rewarded.
