Grant 'The Count' Basey will be up against Dany N'Guessan on saturday (unless he plays in the centre of defence against Bradders) ..... there could be carnage . The Count is a lovely bloke, an honest Pro but has the turning circle of the 'Torrey Canyon' so there could be large amounts of oil on the pitch as The Count runs aground! AllHell
Maybe Green would be the one to give Basey nightmares, tricky little wingers were never to his liking. Hope he gets a welcome though, sure he will.
i always felt sorry for basey. he was looking alright till his leg break and then he never really got a look in.
Indeed SIG, I remember Parky saying he was playing to earn himself a contract, then that twit at Brizzie Rovers broke his leg
Baseys best game for us was in defensive midfield against Nottingham away Never thought he was good enough for us, but I will applaud him. Waggy's speed could destroy him?
I didn't go to that game, but I can imagine he would be decent as a defensive mid. Lacked the pace to cope with wingers whilst playing with LB, and similarly wasn't fast enough to be much of a threat at LM (though if I remember correctly his crossing was decent?). Can't remember if we saw him play at CB but he seems to have played there a lot since leaving us. He probably knows Waggy's game too well for my liking, though I can see CP playing him. Anyways I'll be giving him a clap when his names read out
He'd probably be decent in Semedo type CM role. He played for Barnet at Underhill against us in the FA Cup last season and was very good I recall.
Another thing The Count was very good at was winding up A2C on 606 by posting the team on a Friday afternoon "doin the ova teams job for em"
If Basey had pace he'd be a great player. I shall give him a warm welcome. I shall then, hopefully, watch n'guessan and Danny Green get 45 minutes each to completely rip him to bits.
I liked A2C too. Was he real or just someone (maybe even someone on here sorry on ere) having a laugh?
To be honest mate, he is far more likely to put in the cross for the winner but...... I think we are taking this game seriously....... so I doubt it
When we played Barnet in the cup Basey curled in a free-kick which was headed for the top corner but Robbie pulled off a fabulous save to tip it over. You never know!
