Done, I remember doing dissertations for both my degrees, collecting data can be one of the more frustrating things to do! I had to do lots of bribes for people to test my mobile phone finger mouse control device (may be more dirty than it sounds) =)

Just wait until you hand it in. You hit that "**** it, that'll do" moment the night before, ensuring you have time to get it all printed and then treat yourself to doing all those things that suddenly became more interesting than usual all of a sudden lately...

You say that Mr Tiote but, it depends what course you take, if you take a course and make your own way of finding temp work for your line of degree, sometimes saying you'll do the work for free works, as its a learning experience. People will take you on during summer and if they like you they can recommend or take you on when you finish, depending on if that is a temp or perm basis. A degree is worth it, its just a lot of the case people who do them, don't know what to do with the degree they have gotten so they feel lost and think "what a waste of time"

But thank you for those who have done the questionnaire so far, more people to do it would help!

    Done <ok>

Surprised how short it was, can you really write a decent dissertation with such limited data? Out of interest what's your dissertation called.

At least this guy actually contributes to the site - I've had about 50 of these survey seeking students hit the spam filter over the last two weeks because the system thinks they are spamming links to other sites.

Degrees are not a waste of time, you just have to pick the right one. My first was Physics and I didn't enjoy it too much, managed to scrape a 3rd after being ill and heavily drugged up on painkillers for half of year 2 and then spent 2 years not sure what I wanted to do. I then did a MSc year in Computing, loved it, got top marks in all but one module and walked straight into a job I love.

This...Though I'm fairly possitive I've knocked at least 10 years off my life expectancy in doing so!

Its only 10,000 word diss, it's meant to be short and sweet, if i made them long and boring people wouldn't do it and give up. Which results in more quantitative data, i will then select ones at random and give them interview if they wish to take place which will then give me Qualitative data for my dissertation.

Im doing An Investigation into how wireless security in the home can have an effect on the home user, the data collected from the questionnaire gives me information on what people know about their own network and how they use it. Then my interviews will be in depth. Still got a lot of work to do!

That's what I love about my course (creative writing) I'm taking my family tree and writing a short story about each member (all stories will be true)...It'll require about 10 minutes on the phone to 5/6 different people and that's my research done! It's being handed in on the 1st September, my Dad's 60th is the 17th, so it's also doubling up as my present for him!
