The covenant should always be done in this situation.
Pappa Allam did seem a bit crazy when he was discussing the deal.
I would have thought it was still possible to sit down and consider long term plans to make sure they are acceptable to the Council and certain agreements are put in place which - if the Allams dont carry them out - means they don't get the stadium.

Does this to mean they will go to Melton then, I'd rather they built the stadium in Beverley or nearby personally and maybe that would just be as easy to get to being on a pretty fast and direct train route? The stadium should be in Hull but if the council won't budge i don't blame the Allams for moving us elsewhere, just a shame the KC would become a half-empty venue for egg-chasing and grandad rock concerts.

Just maybe it isn't to Mr Allams requirements. You'll have to ask him if you get the chance.

But if I was going to fund a £200 million development I'd at least like to chose a suitable location.

You suggested that the site was wanted to build houses on, I said it could be provided with a covenant that prevented that, your comment makes absolutely no sense with regard to the point I made.

Not wishing to support the present regime of Brady and Geraghty but it was Labour who had the vision to build the KC with capital monies from the then part sell off of Kingston Communications when Pat Doyle was the Leader.

Seem to recall the Lib Dems were against the KC even though at the time of its opening a woman Lib Dem (forgot her name) took the plaudits for its building at the opening ceremony, whilst the Tories would never have considered such an act.

The likes of Geraghty seems to think Hull Fair should stay there because he thinks thats what the people off Hull want.

Selling to the Allams for zero money that don't have any plans drawn up as to what they are gonna build in and around the KC is quite frankly a joke - their PR is almost at bad as Brady and Geraghtys. Giving up a public asset in this context would be political suicide.

As for Melton - what another Riverside, Pride Park, Reebok or Ricoh? - wholly dependent on the car - can just imagine an incredibly gridlocked A63.

I wouldn't argue the PR point, I think things were really badly handled by both sides, particularly by Assem.

Do you want the land keeping for sport, or do you want it keeping for Hull City AFC? Because it is impossible for this to exist when future ownership and their proposals would be unknown. What if in 10 years under different owners they wanted to move City 5 miles across Hull?

Isn't the proposed ground supposed to be near the railway station?

I wouldnt give him our stadium for free either, anyone spouting **** like 'my gift to Hull' ,merge rugby clubs, prem football for £5 a ticket etc really does need handling with care.I remember Brady more or less saying he had 'difficult meetings' with Assem on the matter and am for one pleased they turned his crackpot sounding plans down.

Yeah that was her name - a right silly c*w.

Got her name on a plaque outside the main West Stand entrance and did absolutely f*ck all to bring the then superstadium to fruition but happy to have her name etched on a bronze plate.

Going back briefly to AA's PR I am sure AP must despair at the way things have been handled...

Ever wondered why Lord Lucan currently has a higher profile than Adam when it comes to City ?

He's currently got the best job in the world - paid handsomely for doing virtually nothing whilst he concentrates on where his own money is invested. Cant blame him at all.

It wouldn't be Hull City if they palyed at Melton , I certainly wouldn't go there , it would be end for a lot of fans

The council and Mr Allam both need to do what is right for Hull and sit down together like adults and talk

I would also like to know what plans the council have for the area around the KC or will they leave it to rot for 10 more years ?

I was just saying that the development cost £44m and the that £42m came from the sale of KC shares, whether it was for the stadium itself or included the whole site was rather irrelevant when I was merely addressing the point of whether it received lottery funding.

I think perhaps you also need to check what mistruth means.

No it isn't, they'd only need to put a covenant on the land stipulating what it can and can't be used for regarding development. Hardly rocket science.

Go on then, have a go at stipulating it. I'd suggest that it's more difficult than you think to safeguard it other than ensuring a football pitch remains.
