    NPOWER CHAMPIONSHIP

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head•

Cardiff are chasing a 26th win from their 52nd league meeting with Derby. The Rams have won 13 of the previous 51, and 13 have been drawn.
    • The Bluebirds are chasing a fourth consecutive victory over Derby, having scored nine goals in the last three meetings.• The Rams have recorded only three away league wins over Cardiff since the first visit in 1927. The most recent was 2-0 in the Championship in September 2004.

    Cardiff City

    • Cardiff are chasing a third win in four games, to extend the longest current unbeaten run by any club in the Championship to eight games, and consolidate their sixth placing - two points ahead of Middlesbrough in seventh.
    • The Bluebirds are hoping to qualify for the play-offs for the third season in a row.
    • Malky Mackay's side are the Championship's draw specialists (17 of 43), and have opened the scoring more often than any other side (28 times).

    Derby County

    • Middlesbrough ended Derby's four-match unbeaten run on Saturday, but the 13th-placed Rams are still hoping for a first Championship top-half finish in four seasons.
    • Derby have not completed the campaign higher than 14th since they were relegated from the Premier League in 2008.
    • Nigel Clough's side have not managed to score more than two goals in any away league game this term.

Personal AnalysisDerby's form had looked okay up until the Boro match. They have shown they can beat teams above them this year, and Clough will have them well prepared. Cardiff meanwhile have not lost in their last 7 starts and have 2 wins in their last 3 games. Home form is an issue for Cardiff, however. Our last 6 games at home have resulted in 4 draws and 2 losses (21st in the league). Derby's last 6 games away has been 2-2-2 (10th in the league.Boro look favourites to win their match tonight against Doncaster, and Blackpool must fancy their chances at home to Leeds. This has become another must win game for Cardiff. I think they can do it. Why? Hard to put a finger on it. I just think there is something about this group of players. I am sure they will battle this game out and somewhere along the way we will take our chance. 1-0 win for me.

In some ways, we're better if they come at us. We're good enough to exploit openings. We don't want them sitting back being defensive against us.

A bit more ball for us now.
