Great to see them frustrate Arsenal to the extent that Van Persie and Wenger were spitting thier dummies out. This after results v Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea. Hope Nicky keeps the faith in his football principles like Martinez, great stuff tonight.

Was very impressive and funny to see van Pervy's reaction at the end. Reminded me of some other plucky underdogs winning 2-1 there...

swansea get a lot of plaudits, but that was a joy to watch from a team desperate for points, arsenal are the worst losers going....

    Can't help but like Wigan.

They always seem to wait 'til 3/4 of the way through the season before they start trying. Immense results recently, really impressive.

I hope they stay up, and it looks like they will.

A lot of loyalty at Wigan, Whelan shows it to Martinez, and Martinez showed it by staying. And nothing beats watching Arsenal moan.

Thats the problem most of us dislike the fact that they have so few fans and the atmosphere is dire at their ground, yet their team is a decent side and really shouldn't be down there. There football is similar to ours and they have a similar problem of not scoring enough. Yet the way they use their pace and counter attacked Arsenal, was unbelievable really how Arsenal didn't in my opinion look like they where going to break them down.

I was surprised when Tyler said it was 200 fans, goes to show you don't always need the fans backing to get results maybe.

I also recall Wigan beating Arsenal 3-2 from 0-2 down at their own place when we were hoping they'd lose.. was our relegation season..

Great to see a nice bloke like Martinez doing well in football.

Can't help but like the man.

He never moans & just gets on with it.

Have a few Wiganners as friends from Uni times. Fb has seen a few posts tonight.

Never been bothered by the (how many fans have you got idiotics) but they played Arsenal off the park tonight with a cracking defensive and counter attacking display. McArthur played really well and in all honesty I thought he was McCarthey for a big part of the game. Moses looked a prospect for Palace and is probably ready for the step up now. Sod it - they all played well

Wigan = a proper football club. Based in the hotbed of football that is the North West, in a town that is probably 50/50 Rugby League/football. Year on year they continue to defy the odds, it's remarkable. Martinez has a lot (I think) to do with how Swansea currently play. He started the possession football when he was down their. Now he's got that exciting 3-4-3 formation working at Wigan. Moses was outstanding tonight, almost unplayable. Fast, strong, low centre of gravity, thought he was brilliant.

Someone I work with is a latic, at Christmas he said they were definitely going down! He'll be well happy! As long as QPR are sat in the bottom 3 I'll be well happy.

Apparently they've only played 36 games, the likes of Arsenal and a few others have played 50+, going on that you'd think they have a fitness edge aswell as outplaying other teams to the end of the season. Martinez has done a great job for them, I hope he gets a chance at a bigger club, no disrespect to Wigan. Martinez achievements in this country since he came over for Wigan as a player in the nineties are massive, he's worked for everything.

He spat his dummy out when he couldn't win a tackle, had a spat with Caldwell then refused to shake his hand. I didnt catch Wenger at the end of the game so he might have not shook Martinez hand. They had a problem with time-wasting, as if they don't do that themselves on occasion, bad sportsmen and hypocrites! (Reply to Premier)

Once again they are doing it when they need to. The thing is they will be down there again next season and will go down soon enough unless they improve their team. It feels harsh criticising them after they beat man utd and the arse but they do need to improve.
