As the title suggests chaps.... just a wee barometer to see what you guys get up to when there is no Footy to fill a weekend..... or indeed your thoughts during the week.

I normally do a bit of gardening.... drinking and running... not a the same time though.
I'm also know to get hauled round the Metro by the wife so I can hold her bags as she spends my cash...

Well I have a conservatory full of various chilli plants at various stages of growth which should keep me occupied. Oh and work, sweet sun depriving work. Do things with the youngun, bit of drinking and a bit of xbox. Attend a few Irish trad festivals, play a bit of music. About it really

I've actually never been to Durham's ground... living in Consett it's a ravesty I know.
I've done Lords, Headingly, Edgebaston, the Oval, Scarborough (WFT?) and Old Trafford though as I'm partial to my cricket...

    Chilli Jam

    Fills 1x 450g preserving jar

    Ingredients:
    • 450g tomatoes, chopped
    • 2 finely chopped chillies (I used 4 hot red chillies)
    • 1cm finely grated ginger
    • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
    • 250g granulated sugar
    • 60g balsamic vinegar
    • some salt n pepper

    Preparation:

    1. Blitz or blend all ingredients together till finely chopped.
    2. Then pour mixture into a pan, boiling it for 25-30 mins, stirring occasionally, till it thickens and becomes syrupy.( I usually takes longer than this)
    3. When the time’s up, take pan off heat and leave jam to cool in pan for 20 mins.
    4. After that, pour jam into sterilised jar using a sterilised jug (I just spoon jam carefully from pan into jar without touching rim) and leave it to cool slightly. ( To sterilize the jars put them in the oven with lids off on a baking tray for about 12mins at 180ºF)
    5. When it’s cool, close lid, label and date before storing. If pot is open, then store in fridge.
