The Parkhead boss received a four-match censure earlier this month following his dugout row with Ally McCoist in the Scottish Cup replay win over Rangers on March 2. That penalty came on top of a four-game ban for excessive misconduct during a 2-0 defeat to Hearts. The second ban was effective from March 16, when Lennon had served just one match of his original suspension, and Celtic have argued the penalties should run concurrently. That would leave him in the stand for just two more games. However, paperwork sent out by the SFA this week makes it clear the governing body regards Lennon as having five matches still outstanding of his bans. Celtic declined to comment yesterday but it's believed they still maintain Lennon will be free to enter the dugout again after the Hibs game on April 6. Meanwhile, Lennon has broken silence to thank fans for their backing during one of the most troubling times of his career. The last time the Celtic boss spoke publicly was before the Cup replay with Rangers. Since his row with McCoist, Lennon has had 24-hour security because of death threats. But following a golf break at St Andrews he used social network site Twitter for the first time since January 18 to say: "Great day at St Andrews yesterday. Being kept very busy but will tweet more soon. Thanks to my followers, really appreciate your support." Celtic will win again.
Typical foo-in-mouth own goal stuff from the beaks. On the one hand they say lenny's ban starts on 16 March; on the other they say, "naw it disnae" Let Paul McBride QC at them asap!
That's crazy talk. How on earth can they justify that? That's essentially saying that once you get a ban, you can commit any punishable offence you like (up to the value of the first ban) without any effective punishment as you'll just serve the 2 bans alongside each other.
