Ashley Young is an absolute DISGRACE. He's the biggest cheat in the league. His antics are a joke....

    On twitter.

While I'm wondering if he had a word with James Perch after our game a couple of weeks ago!! (<grr>), I've still gained a lot of respect for him. Really interesting to see a footballer actually giving a strong opinion like that in the modern game.

Perch had a right to go down if a player is shoving their head in his face.

It's totally different to going down looking for a pen.

    Get lost you ****.

What a needlessly unpleasant response to a comment that was clearly made light-heartedly...

Well I still respect your player, if not some of your fans <doh>, here's hoping he doesn't get fined.

Apologies mate. I was in the middle of something else and didn't read your comment properly, but still, I don't think it's right to compare the Perch incident, to Ashley Young's dives.

I've been saying this about the little **** for years and years. He leaves his leg in every single time. I hope he gets his eyes taken away.

For the record I agree Reina should have been sent off.

Ashley Young doing that in the opening period of a game for the second time in a few weeks is killing the title race, being personally criticised by fellow pros might make him think twice. I'd like to see an England manager drop players for diving, I'm sure that would motivate them to start playing fairly.

There are times when players will dive/over react, Perch for one and to even it up Larsson for SAFC (v Wolves at their place). This said Young has done it one too many times now which places him in the 'Cheat' category.....Fair play to Taylor, not my favourite guy (purely football reasons) but has spoken for the genuine football fan and unlike us makes the wider news. Good shout RT from both a SAFC and FOOTBALL fan.

Perch didn't cheat ! If Perch had not got down and Reina stayed on the pitch that would have been more unfair. All young dows is look to dive.

I'd put Perch in the over react bracket. Only used him as a more recent incident and not an attempt to get a rise.....my comments are more towards RT telling it as it and I guess commenting on behalf of all football fans regardless of their team colours.

    I don't really understand.

Half of the time everyone is whining about English players being out of touch with the modern game, and the other half we're whining when they do the thing that's at the very core of the modern game.

Cheating is cheating no matter the extent. Perch made the most of the situation, acted dishonestly etc. Its all part and parcel unsportsman like behaviour. Yes Reina absolutely deserved to be sent off, but that doesn't excuse the reaction. Just because 'every team' does it is not an excuse either. Young- what a joke.

Perch didn't cheat in the true 'laws of the game'. However he blatantly cheated as the contact made wasn't enough to make him go down.

Also after that game Raylor seemed to disapprove of what Perch did (or at least made a dry joke about it). He seems to be a good guy

As someone said, players are gonna overreact in the heat of the moment. It's when a player goes looking for it AND still ****s up by not getting tripped (like Young today, Hoillet against us and countless others by serial divers). It's a bit like murder and manslaughter... except far, far worse

I said Reina deserved to be sent off! Does that not indicate some sort of foul play? <doh>

And thank you Sir Bobby, at least someone has their heads screwed on.

Perch overreacted and whilst I would rather not see players do that, he didn't cheat as Reina committed a red card offence, same way as Reina IMO went down easily but there was contact and Perch was also correctly booked. Players like Young have been doing for while when there is no contact and in full motion it looked a penalty so it is understandable why the referee gave it. Still not a fan other players from other teams criticising players from other teams for diving, espeically when so many players are doing it.

What grates on me is the notion, which seems to be favoured by the modern football fan, that if there is any 'contact' at all with another player it gives you the right to go down as if you'd been shot by a sniper in the crowd. Reina was a jerk, but Perch's reaction was an embarrassment and besmirched a very good performance.
