Tom Daley had better watch out as a new diving champ has been found in Manchester. Ashley Young, yet again, blatantly dives to earn his 9th penalty for Man.Un. How do referee's let him get away with it? Cheating b**tard,

Watched the replay on Sky Sports; Young makes contact with Clark twice, right foot and left foot.
Right foot - he intentionally puts his foot in the way of Clark's.
left foot - he drags his left foot in the way of Clark's.

Football may not be considered a physical sport, but it IS a contact sport. For that to be considered a foul is absolutely atrocious.

If an attacker deliberately puts his foot in the way of a defender in order to instigate a foul, then that is really unfair.
For example, what Gerrard did to Coleman to get the free kick that led to the goal is fine; Gerrard didn't go into Coleman; he knew that Coleman was going to challenge and saw a foul coming and took it.

What Young did was to actually move into a foul. Had he kept his natural (non-diving) movement, he would have never been fouled.

    Ridiculous.

Hopefully he'll get the flak he deserves after this evidence.

If retrospective action can be taken against a mistaken red card/unseen foul then referees should be allowed to look over a suspected dive and dish out a penalty to the player.
1 match ban for outside the box.
3 for a dive which leads to a goal.
If cards are incorrectly issued then the penalty to the diver will also reflect that.
Finally a sliding scale based on how many dives throughout a season by the same player will result in longer bans for Ashley Young.

Totally agree, and any punishments meted out to opponents reacting to this kind of cheating would be declared null and void.

I think Clark would have had every right to stand on his head, leaving an Ashley Young face print in the penalty box as a sign to say no diving here.

It'd be great if anyone found to dive won't get a pen the next time, so whoever Manure play next can kick the **** out of him in the box and nothing will be given for it. They'll soon learn...

Really disappointed in Young. I've really admired his ability over the years, he's a very talented player but he's become very dishonest lately. Whether it is the extra pressure of playing for Man Utd I don't know...

He signed in June, remember the local paper having an article in about this down to earth guy who had just signed for Man Utd and it was Young. So that is just this season.

I wouldn't like to have anybody in our team that was like that.

    An out and out scallywag.
