Strange that Doncaster did so badly with players such as these. Many of these players' contracts also run out this summer, and Donny would probably not be able to afford to take up any extra years. Do you think NW may have his eye on any of these? I know we all hate Diouf, but he did plat well against us. Piquionne is clearly surplus to requirements at West Ham and could easily do a job for us. Interesting one is Oster. He used to play for us on loan from Sunderland, but I can't remember what it was that meant he was returned to the Black Cats in disgrace. He's also quite old, like Beye, and would be a Grayson-type signing - but may catch the eye as a Warnock player.
Don't think Leeds would ever have Oster back again. He blotted his copybook by getting arrested in Durham, and after being warned about his future conduct, he blotted his copybook again at the christmas party, I think it was. As only a couple of weeks separated these incidents, he got the bullet. Silly boy.
we don't need strikers. We need to bolster up the back four and add a bit of quality on the wings. We have McCormack, Becchio, Paynter (Might be good next year), Webber. We need new centre-back to replace the woeful Tom Lees and Darren O'Dea. Connolly will leave this summer aswell.
Agree we need to improve the defence - O'Dea and Robinson are the only ones showing anything like some consistency - but I think it would be a mistake if we did not improve the forwards and the midfield too. A strong squad of quality players all the way through means they are all fighting each other to get in the squad to make sure that when players are underpereforming, there is someone else just as good to come in.
Coppinger would be a good signing, either as competition for Snodgrass or his replacement should he leave.
