I miss it, I really wish they would do it again. Soccer AM is dog**** and that James Corden thing last year was a bit naff.

I tried to find a "Scottish football is ****" clip but can't find any so this'll do...

Would anyone else welcome them back?

Absolutely, Franks one of the wittiest and football knowledgable comedians out there.

I'm at a loss to explain why 10 people have viewed this piece of magic and declined to comment yet Tash simply mentions his predicament around some towering tart and one of the greatest threads ever woven ensues.

    Kids these days... <tut>

MOTD is for your pure football, Soccer AM is just a little football warm up on a Saturday, I would certainly welcome this back, we dont have anything thats a good mix between football and comedy

It's great, good honest banter like you'd find in a pub and doesn't take itself too seriously. Would be an instant hit if it returned.

That's what you want, pub banter, give them a couple of pints and let it flow. I would rather my tv licence money go on this over Cash in the Attic!

Good summary AP. Met FS in a pub in London many moons ago and it was amazing how many dialects he's perfected, he said the only one he couldn't do was the Geordie one. However I thought he made a very good job of it.

It was of the time, when 'lads were back' and Loaded was THE mag of choice - happy days...it wouldn't get an airing now unless concesions were made to make it more 'inclusive for the ladies' and 'family orientated', because as we all now kno, women and kids love football. I love my missus, and I'd die for my boy, but for ****s sake wouldn't it be nice to have a footy programme like Fantasy Football back on the telly that didn't acknowledge that birds and kids might be watching and just concentrated on what WE wanted to watch...oh, and Franks not nearly half as funny now as he was then. That's what giving up the booze and finding Jesus does for you!

I think they should do averything to bring it back! Both are relatively work free so should be easy....wonder what Statto is up to these days!

Frank Skinner is hilarious! Was watching an old Never Mind the Buzzcocks last night and he was hosting, 30 mins of laughter! Especially loved it when they were talking about hoovers and he got onto Henry hoovers and said 'I dont mind seeing a Hoover in a skip, but not one with a face!' <laugh>

Aye I watched that, that's what got me onto this subject! It's amazing how much Skinner says that goes over peoples heads. He's nail Jimmy Carr to the wall in a battle of wits.

Argh don't mention either of those unfunny ****s!
Whoever finds either of those two funny deserves a ****ing slap, a lot like that Russell Howard.

See I disagree with that on two points. One is that Frank Skinner is still very funny, more so if he's talking football.

The other is that fantasy football wasn't exactly not inclusive of women, certainly not to the extent that Soccer AM is with its soccerettes. It was very football focussed and was always funnier if your football knowledge was decent but I certainly don't think anything needs to change to be on today. It wasn't even that long ago they did a World Cup show (on ITV unfortunately) and that certainly didn't change much.

Now going to dig out the old VCR...

Oh, and steviemac, Statto did Channel 4 racing for years, presume he still does?

It's much better than 'An Audience with Sir Alex Ferguson' on the BBC.

Mike Phelan answers questions about Man Utd and it's manager.
