copied from other thread as u r all here!! Just got in. Not so much as a sniff early doors. Darlan and Silvinaco weren't a price for me so I hardly had a play. Just oggled the birds instead . I steamed into Wishful Thinking and Albertas Run both on the nose and got badly stung. Fair play to the winner there. Chance Du Roy ran a huge race to claw me back some dough but that all went on to Fingal Bay ffs. Don't know what happend there lads, need to watch it again. Just go outstayed perhaps? Thank god I got a tasty bet on Attaglace at 20/1 e/w. Saved my day and then some. Told my mates to get on but they'd stopped listening to me by that stage. Oops. Huge credit to Malcolm Jefferson, I'm gonna have a bit on According to Pete blind now I reckon. Hopefully Junior can round off what will now be a rare profitable Aintree. Not often I bring the double up, profit at Aintree and Cheltenham. Buzzing lads. The little bit I had on Saphir River after yesterday's daily thread was just the icing on the cake hope others were on!
Anyway off to bed now, was meant to be going up to aintree today, but change of plan so getting up at the crack to go staying over for a night! Cant wait- hopefully a nice National Winner will top my birthday off tomorrow- Come on Ballabriggs! Ginger will be guiding you through!- Saver on Sunnyhillboy & Cappa Bleu Night all and good luck to you all! (especially those who have backed my 3 )
NOT ON much these days the big one tomoz watch out for hugsey on Viking Blond, got the call on monday and is very pleased, Black Apalachie is defo one to watch, Dennis knows this horse inside out but for me Treacle, State of Play (only becoz thats the name of Nass blog) and West End Rocker Stay Frosty
State of Play E/W (for his annual run!). Placed last 3 years and has a chance at 50/1 Also Neptune Collognes 33/1. The forgotten horse and at 11 y/o not out of it and quite well handicapped on old form. Ran well against Giles Cross this season on heavy ground and better ground will suit it more than Giles Cross and many others in the field Also (like many seemingly on here) quite like the chances of Cappa Bleu although the value in the price seems to have gone (generally do not back at odds shorter than 20/1 in such races)
what do yous guys think will be the main "market movers" / horses contracting in price in the big one tomorrow??
2.00 Lingfield Greensward 12/1 On the sauce tonight so going to make this brief. Although he's been disappointing on his first 3 starts for trainer Mike Murphy, I'm convinced there is more to come from him. He's now back down to being just 1lb above his last win in September when trained by Brian Meehan. The very talented claimer Darren Edward Egan gets the ride, and his 7lb claim make Greensward look very well weighted off 6lb lower than his last success. With Mike Murphy in cracking form at present, I certainly can see him bouncing back in the very near future and fancy him to go very close to landing this Class 3 event. 5.05 Aintree Conquisto 28/1 Not a race to be getting too heavily involved with on the betting front but I think Steve Gollings 7 year old looks nicely weighted and could run a big race. 6th in this race last year, Conquisto won on his last start in very admirable style and that win has put him up 7lb to the same mark of his effort in the race last year. 10lb claimer Paul Bohan, who was on board for the win LTO, has a record of 1 win from 2 rides around Aintree which is an obvious bonus and his allowance will allow Conquisto to race off a weight of 9-13. With his ability to navigate big fields and he seems to go well at the track, I think Conquisto represents a live e/w chance in what looks an open and competitive heat. Have backed Chicago Grey 18/1 and On His Own 16/1 for the GN. Chicago Grey has clearly been laid out for this race all season by a trainer who knows how to win the big one and I can see him running a monster race. On His Own was a very impressive winner LTO and gets Ruby up top to cement confidence.
Gone for 3 e/w in the National - Synchronised, Calgary Bay and Seabass. Hoping for a decent run for my money. Best of luck everyone
Spirit of Shankly has been withdrawn from the bumper. Annoying. Thought he had a massive chance today. Taken prices on the Chepstow bumper horses.
Good morning chaps... A glorious day and a great day of sporting events lie ahead... Picked out 4 in the National... Alfa Beat, According To Pete, Cappa Bleu and Neptune Coloognes... But elsewhere in the Merseyside sporting fest i have no hope of Liverpool turning over the blue noses... The bookies have the Red Men favs but i cant see it... So i hope that i have a better day on the horses than the footy... Other wise it will be a long long night ferrying around all the pissed up scousers moaning or shouting about how good or ****e there team played...(though i get that most weekends at the mo...!!!) Good luck to all today...
Liverpool are favourites because: (1) They are unbeaten in cups this season (2) They won both games against them this season - quite easily if I recall (3) They will have a near full strength side out, particularly if Danny Agger plays (4) They have been resting players in recent weeks meaning they should have a fresh side (5) All things being equal they are generally a better team But what do I know Anyway is this not the horse racing forum - go on the Neptune!!!!!!
Cappa Bleu for the Nash. Il Presidente for the bumper....and The mighty EVERTON to work it right up the red nose shyte!!!!
