    Didn't rate him myself.

Either way, I think this is just a typical situation where a paper jumps to feasable conclusions - it seems clear enough that Mannone and Jakupovic are our targets for next season, although if one falls through/ we don't have the funds, then he'd be good backup.
From what I hear, Guzan will struggle for a renewed work permit anyway.

Jakupovic seems to be the favourite to be our keeper next season unless Arsenal can be persuaded to drop the price for mannone

Yes, but aren't we supposed to be in the market for 2 keepers?

I believe we want two permanent keepers next season, one I expect to be Jakupovic, the other we'd like to be Mannone but Arsenal want decent money for him and we're looking at someone else who I am not a big fan of. I'd rather have Guzan than the other option we're looking at, but neither are as good as Mannone.

I actually know naff all about Jakupovic, apart from he's very tall and Spurs were looking at him a year or so back.

Didn't rate Guzan in the slightest, prone to many mistakes. Hope he doesnt come back here.

    I wish it was.

Ironically, it's rumoured that if Guzan leaves Villa, they're going to try and sign Lewis.

Jakupovic had trials at Everton and Newcastle in september didn't he, he must be somewhat of a decent keeper for good premier league clubs to take a risk on a 26 year old keeper, perhaps he's good enough for the starting lineup week in week out in the Championship, also if we were to get another permanent keeper there is this young Polish keeper who is highly rated at Oldham called Alex Cisak, he could be backup for Jakupovic and one for the future if we release Basso and Oxley.

Based on past comments OLM I'll take a swing at it being Kirkland.

    Gulasci was at liverpool
    Amoo was at Liverpool
    Simpson had games for Arsenal

Unfortunately doesn't always work like that.

I think Simpson and Amoo showed some potential. Gulacsi was a pretty typical young keeper to be honest; good shot stopped but had the odd 'moment'.

For a season, I'd have a punt at Jaaskelienen. Yeah he's old but I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about him. Shocking that he isn't in the Bolton team ahead of Bogdan.

They were all pretty young players at the time though that showed potential, Jakupovic on the other hand is 26 or 27 which means despite being somewhat far in his career and only played at Greek and Russian big clubs are still showing interest in him, personally I think were very lucky to be favourites to sign him.

I can't understasnd that one myself. He used to win Bolton games on his own, why don't they play him any more?

Thomasz Kuscaiak who is on Loan from Man utd @ Watford at the moment. Wonder If he has been looked at as a possible. Dont see Chris Kirkland as an option at all. Far to much of a sick note.

I'd take Jääskeläinen in a heartbeat, I can't believe a relegation threatened team would only have him on the bench, at 36 he's definitely got at least another couple of seasons in him.
