I think player is value for money. There has rarely been any technical glitch that I can remember either. And there are still exclusive commentaries on all home games at Wycombe Hospital Radio. I'm part of the matchday commentary team (for my eloquence and poise of course!) and we are volunteers, but it's professionally done and we know what we're on about. Unfortunately I think you have to be a patient to listen in though, so hopefully no one on here will be in that position!
Just further to the above, if anyone has relatives/friends who are unfortunately in hospital and support WWFC, tell them they can listen in on Saturday!
great times and it says it all about lionheart brownie he got injured and just carried on,the man is a wycombe legend
I can testify to the quality of the hospital radio, it was great when I was in there about 15 years ago. Kept me sane (well, that and the 90 year old with no legs in the bed next to me who kept giving me roll ups).
Re. The Man City win. I think we did the double on them that season. I remember winning 1-0 at home and Gallagher was there. He took awful stick from our young uns in the crowd. He left early with his bouncers, waving his fist at us oiks. One of my best memories at Adams Park. Someone so rich and famous (and talented) getting wound up mby a bunch of 16 year olds. Superb. Yes, it was 1170, and Andy Kerr was our Motson.
i remember gallagher sticking his 2 fingers up at the wycombe crowd after we gave him dogs abuse all the game.
I'm struggling to remember those Man City days. I've had to watch Emmerdale lately and I think it's getting to me. Doesn't seem possible Man C were in Division 2 (is that League 1 in today's currency?). 1999 was my first year of consultancy work for AXA so I was definitely alive then. I remember vividly our FA Amateur Cup semi final at Highbury, the final at Wembley (90,000 crowd), semi final at Doncaster, Isthmian League Championship decider against Hendon, league games against Wimbledon, Walthamstowe Avenue, Leytonstone (red and white stripes, very dirty side) etc etc but Man C.........
evening ron, i also remember travelling up to citys old ground maine road for a cup game and there were loads of blues fans there in a midweek game and we all went mental when wycombe broke away on a counter attack and i think it was desouza who shot and hit the side netting and we all thought he scored to give us the lead.it was a very even game and then they warmed up a sub and the whole kippax stand gave him a standing ovation ,and i wondered who he was only to find out it was georgie kinkladze and he came on and destroyed us
Yep I remember playing Man City very well too. We also had some cracking games against Stoke City too I seem to remember.
i think we should get free pre match beer as well and maybe some dancing girls thrown in..........."drifts off to another website"
it sounds like you are feelin better already mate, where are we meeting up on saturday then the white horse
