If you do, you'll be supporting Everton tomorrow.

An unfashionable, honest, well organised club is the nuetral's natural favourite against a more famouss, brasher opponent. For us in particular, seeing Kenny and Co brought down to earth with a severe bump would be sweet. And if Everton win, they'll have an FA Cup final on the mind when we meet them in what is for them a meaningless fixture in the last game of the season.

For anyone who thinks we can win the next 3 games and who harbours hopes of the CL, the choice is clear.

The only people who would support Liverpool are those who have no faith in the club at all, and who want to be thrown a scrap when the wheels fall off.

Much as I have tried to belong to the first camp, I'll be holding my nose and supporting the reds. Howe about you ?

I just don't think we are good enough to keep up with those two in the end.

    Liverpool for me.

I can't figure out who I want to win. In an ideal world Everton would thump them and we'd get the champions league. That's what I most want to happen.

The more realistic side of me knows that getting European football is more important than laughing at Liverpool fail. Also, their winning tomorrow actually means a lot more to us than it does to them, because they can still fall at the final hurdle here, whereas it pretty much decides things for us. So them winning is probably the best outcome.

But then I remember how much I can't stand LFC - it's a long standing dislike going all the way back to primary school and classmates who were, despite being only 7 and from North Shields, lifelong die-hard LFC 'fans' - and can't really support them in anything.

    Basically, I don't know.

I'm probably going to start watching the match wanting Liverpool to win and ending up supporting Everton as beer/habit asserts itself. I

Don't mind either club but one of them can help Newcastle. They'll be getting my support.

A liverpool win completely takes the pressure off us to qualify for Europe, it should let us play with much more feedom and increases our chance of champions league imo. If Everton win we're under pressure to get 5th, unless chelsea win the whole thing, making it much more difficult.

Better to be safe than sorry, think Liverpool will win personally though I wouldn't be surprised if it went to extra time.

Tbh Ive been also thinking about the opposite, us getting europe then taking the foot off the pedal. I dont expect the lads to stop playing but you never know, some players have looked tired these past few weeks. This breaks a god send to be fair.

Liverpool will win tomorrow, then lose to Chelsea in the final...

I think we'll get 5-7pts out of the last 5 games & finish 6th.....which makes me a bad person i know, but it all seems too good to be true :-/

No, I believe in the lads but there's always the chance we can finish 6th, Chelsea aren't a **** team.

    I'm supporting Liverpool.

Don't really agree with your logic here I'm afraid...That's like saying if we were through to the FA Cup Final and Man Utd were playing Leeds, I'd want Man Utd to win 'cause I have faith in the lads and think we could beat anyone...

I want every chance of a top season and Europe will give us that, no offense to Liverpool or Everton but **** em both, its all about the Toon and that means supporting Liverpool!

Is there any sane reason so many of our fans hate Liverpool? Obviously its in the main just the younger generation so I'm just wondering if there was some event in the recent past I have missed that has caused it? Its worth noting there was always a mutual respect and liking between the two clubs and their fans throughout the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. Not a criticism, just interested to know.

Until a couple of years ago I would generally support Liverpool in matches that didn't involve us or affect our interests. They were the littlest of the big teams and from a proper footballing region. In the last two to three years, though, I have been steadilly alienated by an air of unjustified arrogance that they seem to radiate. Man U might be arrogant but at least they have the results to show that they are the best English team in recent history. Arsenal might be arrogant but they are also pretty damned good, and also fairly pretty. Liverpool have strucl me as displayng similar levels of hubris without the results to back them up.

This was a fairly low level irritation until they (successfully) used their inflated sense of self worth to poach a couple of players, and susbsequently have suggested they could poach the remainder of our better players if they wanted to. While I don't hate Liverpool, I would like to see about six degrees of smugness knocked out of them.

In my case it's just been a lifetime of meeting the wrong sort of Liverpool fan. Probably would be different if I'd spent any decent amount of time on Merseyside, but I haven't. And for some reason I always end up knowing the worst sort of arrogant plastic Liverpool fans. Like the guy I know from Edinburgh <doh> who told me, the day after we got relegated, that it was actually a good thing because: "now you know why you should support a real football team" . And it wasn't just banter, he was like really serious.

At that point, mild dislike turned into a burning desire to see them fail at everything, just so I could witness his sweet salty tears of despair. Watching his growing rage as Newcastle have outmatched them in the League this season, while they lurch from one ****-up to the next has been excellent. It's a bit unsporting on my part, I get that, but it's also no different to wanting to see Villa get relegated (and I do) for much the same reason, so I won't apologize for it.

I'm sure LFC has lots of proper decent fans, who won't deserve it if Henry and FSG ruins their team. Thing of it is though, I don't personally know any of them. So I'm going to schedule my unreasonable bias around what works best for me.

    Indeed, a lucky break

However we will strengthen over Summer and guys like Gosling, Vuckic, R.Taylor, Fergie, Abeid, Best etc. will want more games.

I am a tad worried about Krul if he gets injured or drained at some point. Who do we have? Elliot?
