Going for a e/w accumulator tomorrow: 2.00 Prospect Wells 3.05 Albertas Run 3.40 Apt Approach 4.15 Gullinbursti 4.50 It's a Gimme 5.25 Eleven Fifty Nine No chance of them all winning, but hopefully they all place which I think pays a very nice 280/1
Evening all. Stick, you not as confident on Gullinbursti tomorrow I assume? Any chance he will actually run?
Captain Conan. Given I like the look of Tap Night who he ran 2l second to last time out I am hoping that they will both progress and that he's a hidden gem. Also already has the scalp of the second fap Prospect Wells 10/1 Join Together. I'm going to overlook Ruby taking Silviniaco Conti because I think Join Together is the best proven horse over the distance and 9/2 on an E/W is the better bet. Alberta's Run The old campaigner will bring the class and if it gets in a battle with any of these I'd take it to win out all day long. 11/4
They want to run him Don as he is so well but needs a serious amount of rain tonight. He was well in on the handicap but I dont he will get anywhere near Fingal Bay.
I included that one in my thinking Ouija. Don't think it's anything special. I think Fingal Bay is currently judged 1/2 on form and 1/2 on hype because of what Hobbsy said at the start of the season. I'm not saying he won't win. I just think he doesn't represent value.
Just about to mention this. I'd be surprised if he runs because of what it will do to his handicap mark.
2.00 Aintree: The double-edged each-way approach: VULCANITE 8/1 looks the value for win purposes- a flatter track, a nice long run in, can definitely bounce back and surprise here. Cheltenham wasn't for him I don't think. Still think he's scopey over hurdles. One that is destined to surprise is AGENT ARCHIE 16/1, who was originally going to skip Cheltenham for Aintree which 'suits him better'. It's a long way out in front at Cheltenham and I think the distance makes him seem a lot worse than he is. Very speedy, very fluent- he will be very interesting tomorrow. Darlan looks awkward to me under pressure, and Prospect Wells seemed to relish the stiff finish at Cheltenham again- will Aintree really suit? 2.30: SILVINIANO CONTI 15/8 (NAP) Really nice chaser, very economical jumper- ideal trip and finished in front of Bobs Worth at Kempton. Deliberately bypassed Cheltenham for this and can pick up a prize here- well deserved too. 3.05 WISHFUL THINKING 11/1 If Menorah has won a good race over fences then the Hobbs team must be in decent nick! Can Wishful Thinking bounce back at last and land another nice race at the end of a very tough season for Hobbs? I think he can. Finians Rainbow is not for 2 and a half miles. 3.40: MATUHI- David Pipe. There's not a lot else I can add. 4.15: FINGAL BAY 6/4 - If he's fully fit (they wouldnt risk him else), then he will relish the step up in trip, is nice and fresh, and should stay on to beat this field pretty well. Very nice horse indeed.
2 bets for me tomorrow. Alberta's Run 11/4 BOG 15:05 Aintree, hopefully can get the better of Finians Rainbow who is the one to beat, but the horse is as genuine as they come for me and i expect another big run, hopefully the Cheltenham run won't affect the horse as much as Riverside today and will be putting a decent bet on at 11/4. Dart Queen 2/1 BOG Dundalk 18:45, Ran Wednesday in a bigger field and travelled beautifully only to get blocked out a few times when trying to sneak through on the rail to finish 4th when looking all over the potential winner. Smaller field here and expect the horse to be ridden handy throughout by Johnny Murtagh and with no crowd to worry about, can see her winning this contest from Jim Bolger's useful Aquilonious. Goodluck to all.
Might throw a few quid on "Nikola" just because it's my girls name. Anyone know if it even has half a prayer?
I too like Wishful Thinking Toppy for tomorrow but I can't get out of my head just how big a fall he suffered at Cheltenham... ps think you can get 12s on him too
Dunno what to make of Wishful Thinking, he obviously has loads of talent, i imagine the Hobbs' must be scratching their head sometimes over him. Yes, that was a hard fall, even tougher on that photograper no doubt but if he can jump around has to have a chance, i just couldn't have him for his jumping. Goodluck though.
second in the 2010 Sefton behind Frankie Figg so has course form but ran a shocker in the 2011 renewal
Thanks for that. Still got that bevy here for you from Kentford Grey Lady running second to Quevega here when you want to pick it up.
Mostly drivel George.............LOL Good on ya Islander ;-) Best of luck if you have a dabble on Nikola
16.50 Aintree- Its A Gimme- 5/1 The AP/Jonjo combination will strike again. He was rated 142 prior to winning a novices' hurdle at Southwell over 2m5f last time and the handicapper has been very generous in dropping him 7lb for that win. There could be some improvement left in him and he can play a leading role here
2.00. Right Step. 2.30. Join Together 3.05. Wishfull Thinking. 3.40. Gonebeyondrecall. 4.15. Harry Topper. 4.50. Orsippus. 5.25. Missunited. Will be backing them all in the place market.
Very fortunate to beat BABY SHINE that day but makes him fairly handicapped in my book. Money continues to come for McCains DOYLY CARTE in the mares bumper........you've been warned!
