5th would be best

I'm thought the Champions League is actually a less demanding fixture list than the Europa even when you factor in qualifiers, could be wrong though. Not to mention CL is much more prestigious and gives our players a chance to go up against the very best in Europe, generates a LOT of money for the club, and puts us in an even better position to hold on to our players.

Sorry but as far as I'm concerned your argument makes no sense at all Tash. I would love to see Champions League football back here, if it doesn't happen then whatever we've had a great run this year, but I don't see why you wouldn't want to be in the best competition.

I would love to finish 4th, but I was just trying to emphasise how much better it would be if we finished 5th over 6th.

It would mean we'd be more likely to keep our players but also we wouldn't have to go through the qualifying rounds, which can **** up teams seasons with injuries, fatigue ect.

5th over 6th isn't just one higher place, it can define a teams future.

Ok I'll admit that I didn't make my point as clear as I should, but anyone with a single braincell would see that I made a valid point.

Finishing 5th over 6th could be incredibly important to our future for more than the reason that "it's higher than 6th".

5th isn't going to mean players are any more likely to stay than 6th. 4th will. And as for the one extra place of 5th over 6th possibly defining our future... you could just as easily say that Cisse's or Ben Arfa's driving could do that. It's stretching things beyond all reason.

5th will mean, if you had read my article and comments, that we don't have to go through the qualifiers of the Europa League, meaning we have more time to let new players settle and let the team prepare for next season.

Of course I'd want CL football, but I'm just talking about the potential importance of finishing 5th over 6th if we end up in the Europa League, not the CL.
